General information about using public transport in Bratislava
- Remember to buy a ticket every time you use public transportation. - You can buy your tickets at yellow ticket machines located at/ near most of bus and tram stops, in all kiosks or in several public transport offices/ shops. - There are 2 basic types of tickets. - A 60 minutes ticket (0,70 euro) which allows you to change for another bus or tram and a 15 minutes ticket (0,50 euro) which does not allow you to do so. - If you change for another vehicle, buy a 60-minutes one, no matter how long (up to 60 minutes) you travel. If you do not change, buy the ticket that fits the length of your travel (up to 15 or more than 15 minutes) (you can find this information at an information panel at each bus stop). - There are also some tourist tickets – 24-hour ticket (3,50 euro), 48-hour ticket (6,50 euro), 3-days ticket (8,00 euro) or 7-days one (12,00 euro) available at some ticket machines and in public transport offices/ shops. - For more information go to www.imhd.sk
- On most of the vehicles of public transportation there are information panels installed in their fronts showing the next/ following stop, time, the city zone (Pásmo - 1 or 2), and the terminal of the route.

Arrival: Vienna International Airport
The best solution is to take a direct bus which gets you to Bratislava in an hour. There are two options - Slovak lines and Blaguss bus service.
Slovak lines (Postbus) - When entering Arrival terminal hall continue to the left exit. After getting out of the terminal you are at a bus platform. The bus stop for Bratislava is on your left at the end of the platform. During the day (until 7:30 p.m.), please, buy your bus ticket at the ticket office near the terminal exit (otherwise buy your ticket on the bus). A single ticket costs 7,70 euro. A charge for your luggage is 1 euro. You will arrive to Bratislava “Mlynské nivy” bus station in an hour. Departure For travelling to Vienna with Slovak lines go to the “Mlynské nivy” bus station. There, buy your bus ticket for Vienna International Airport in the ticket office in the bus station (open until 6:30 p.m., later buy your ticket on the bus). The bus leaves from platform no. 12.

Arrival: “Mlynské nivy” bus station
When you get off the bus you have two possibilities how to get to the hotel – taxi or public transport.
Taxi Enter the building of the station, pass through it heading for its exit and in front of the station there is a taxi point.
Public transportation (bus and tram) For tickets check General information at the beginning of this document. As you get off the bus, turn left (having the bus behind you) and continue along the building of the station. You will reach some stalls in a while. The stop for public transportation is just behind them. Take a bus no. 70 and get off in 5 minutes at its last stop called “Nový most” (New Bridge). You are really under the bridge. Get to a nearby tram stop (towards the river bank) – one way to get there is after getting off the bus to cross the road parallel with the platform and then road to your right. You will be at a tram stop for “Karlova Ves” or “Dúbravka” direction. Take a tram no. 4 or 12, on the tram follow/ check the information panel for “Botanická záhrada” (if installed) and get off at “Botanická záhrada”. There go upstairs, at the top turn left and continue until the last stairs on the right. Go downstairs. You find yourself on a pavement. Continue in the same direction as you went downstairs. Cross a pedestrian crossing with traffic lights. From there you will be able to see red and blue colours of the hotel and the heading Hotel Družba. Follow the pathway to the hotel, the entrance is situated in between the buildings in the right building at its back. Welcome!

Departure Your way from the hotel to “Mlynské nivy” bus station is similar, just in opposite direction. At first, take a tram no. 4 or 12 to “Nový most”, then a bus no. 70 to “Mlynské nivy”. The no. 70 bus stop at “Nový most” is situated at the bank of the river, after getting off the tram just cross the street parallel with the tram.

Arrival: Bratislava airport (M. R. Štefánik airport)
When you exit the Arrival terminal you can take a taxi waiting in front of the airport building. Other possibility is to use public transport.
Public transportation (bus and tram) For tickets check General information at the beginning of this document. Take a bus no. 61. The bus stop is situated just a few steps from the Arrival terminal. Get off the bus at the “Trnavské mýto” stop (check the information panel on the bus). Then you need to descend to the subway and reach the exit for trams for the city centre (“Centrum”), in the “Karlova Ves” or “Dúbravka“ direction. Wait for the tram no. 1, 4 or 9. Leave the tram at the stop called “Botanická záhrada” (Botanic Garden). There go upstairs, at the top turn left and continue until the last stairs on the right. Go downstairs. You find yourself on a pavement. Continue in the same direction as you went downstairs. Cross a pedestrian crossing with traffic lights. From there you will be able to see red and blue colours of the hotel and the heading Hotel Družba. Departure: The same possibilities other way round: From the hotel take a tram 1, 4 or 9 to “Trnavské mýto”. Go into the subway, look for the exit for “Šancová”, and from there take a bus no. 61 to “Letisko” (Airport).

Arrival: “Bratislava Hlavná stanica” railway station
For those arriving to the “Bratislava Hlavná stanica” railway station there are, again, two possibilities to continue to the hotel - taxi or bus.
Taxi After exiting the station (whether you pass through the station’s building or not), continue straight, a taxi point is just a few steps from the building.
Public transportation (bus) For tickets check General information at the beginning of this document. After exiting the station (whether you pass through the station’s building or not), continue straight and keep to the right passing along the right side of the platform for buses. Take a bus no. 32 and get off at “Botanická záhrada” (Botanic Garden) bus stop. There go upstairs, at the top turn right and continue until the last stairs on the right. Go downstairs. You find yourself on a pavement. Continue in the same direction as you went downstairs. Cross a pedestrian crossing with traffic lights. From there you will be able to see red and blue colours of the hotel and the heading Hotel Družba. Departure Similarly use a bus no. 32 from “Botanická záhrada” to get to the “Hlavná stanica” (Main Railway Station) and get off at the last stop.

Arrival: “Bratislava – ŽST Petržalka” railway station
Public transportation (bus and tram) Check General information at the beginning of this document to learn about tickets. For public transportation enter the subway and leave it at its last exit (the most distant from the station). Cross the street and go to the nearby bus stop. Take a bus no. 91 or 191, and get off the bus at its terminal called “Nový most” (New Bridge) in about 4 minutes. You are really under the bridge. Departure Your way is similar just in opposite direction: From the hotel – tram 4 or 12 – to “Nový most”. From “Nový most” – bus 91 or 191 from the bus stop situated actually under the bridge – to “ŽST Petržalka”. From the bus stop through the subway to trains.
