4 5 RICH HISTORY, STRONG FUTURE

WESTERNER PARK WAS BUSY CREATING MORE MILESTONES DURING OUR 125TH YEAR, AND WE HAD PLENTY OF SUPPORT FROM OUR COMMUNITY!

Our year was made special with an exceptional honour from The City of Red Deer – a proclamation that states October 31 will be known as Westerner Park Day. This recognition commends 125 years of work, contributions and accomplishments supported by our staff and volunteers at Westerner Exposition Association. Westerner Park Day is a tribute to bringing the community together – to enjoy convention, trade shows, agriculture, entertainment and sporting events. To commemorate our 125th anniversary, we installed a photographic mural in the foyer of the ENMAX Centrium, one that captures our prolific history of community activities. We encourage all Central Albertans to enjoy the mural when attending events in the ENMAX Centrium.

More celebrations! We weren’t alone in marking a milestone in 2016. We had fun delivering cakes to an impressive list of organizations welcomed by Westerner Park: • Red Deer Sportsman & Outdoor Adventure Show 50 years • Electric Garage 10 years • Central Alberta Quilters Guild 25 years • Mane Event 10 years • Red Deer & District Kennel Club 230 events • Alberta Home Educators Association 30 years Celebrating 125 Years of History! In 2016 Westerner Park commemorated, upgraded, refreshed and – of course – celebrated. We’re glad you were with us, to enjoy every moment! 1891-2016

Milestone In 2001 a partnership was formed with ENMAX Energy Corporation, a connection that secured a source of electricity and naming rights for our ENMAX Centrium. That strong bond continues today.
