MEDAL COUNT DINNER On Tuesday night next, 24th August, the inaugural Medal Count Dinner will be held at the Newtown Rules Club, at 8.00 p.m. As counting of votes will start at that time, it is strongly suggested that all those people attending be there by 7.30 , p.m. A large attendance is already guaraneed, so, those of you who have not yet · obtained their tickets, please see your Social Committee, or go to Football House and purchase them, at $6.00 per head. The guest speaker that night will be David Parkin, that well known Hawthorn personality. GOAL KICKING AWARD There will be a big finish to the Minor Round matches this weekend, with Graeme Mclean of North Shore, with 67 goals, playing on the .Saturday against .Balmain. Then on Sunday, Western Suburbs Paul Cavanagh, with 66 goals, will know what he has to beat to take out the A.N.Z. Bank Leading Goalkicker Award. But, there is a dark horse in it as well, in Dick Bednarski from Balmain, who kicked a Club record of 14 goals last weekend, to take his tally to 60 goals. If he can reproduce this effort onSaturday, he too could be a contender for the $300.00 prize money. Best of luck to each of you. An interesting tussle is in Reserve Grade as well, wit'h T. Oxley, from North.. Shore on 71 goals, just being headed by 8. Andrews from East Sydney. Again, the Easts player has the drop on the Norths man. The same situation is also in the Under 19's with two players having kicked 84 goals each this season. They are A. Baldry from St. George, and K. Holland from Southern Districts. However, as they both play their matches on Sunday neither will know who has finished the winner until the games are over. W. D. & H. 0. WILLS CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP Points .Scores have once again been checked for accuracy, and we have now adjusted all points, allowing for forfeits from the start of the season. Only one discrepancy remains in the overall total, and the Under 19 total, and that is a difference of 5 points less allocated for Round 1 in Under 19 competition, when Wests and Balmain played and both Under 19 sides forfeited. To Round 19, 380 points have been allocated to 1st and Reserve Grades, 375 points to Under 19.
