ASTC Travel Passport Program Participants November 1, 2018–April 30, 2019 ASTC Travel Passport Program Participants November 1, 2018–April 30, 2019 As a member of an institution that participates in the ASTC Travel Passport Program, you are eligible for benefits such as free GENERAL ADMISSION when you travel outside of your local area to the other participating institutions listed here. These benefits DO NOT do not include free or discounted admission to special exhibits, planetarium, and larger-screen theater presentations, nor do they include museum store discounts and other benefits associated with museum membership unless stated otherwise. EXCLUSIONS 1. Science centers and museums located within 90 miles* of the science center/museum where the visitor is a member. 2. Science centers and museums located within 90 miles* of the visitor’s residence. *This distance is measured “as the crow flies,” meaning that it is based on the linear radius, not driving distance. BEFORE YOU TRAVEL CHECKLIST Make sure the science center/museum you are visiting is not excluded (see above exclusions). Review that science center/museum’s family admittance policy below (denoted by “F”). Call before you visit to confirm your Passport Program benefits. Pack your ID (or other proof of residence). Admissions staff reserve the right to request proof of residence for benefits to apply. Passport Program venues requesting proof of residence are marked by (IDs). Pack your membership card. Passport Program venues are not required to grant benefits to visitors who forget their cards. There is no universal database with all Passport visitors’ member data for admission staff to reference. Some venues will allow you to call the science center or museum you joined to confirm your membership, but they are under no obligation to do so. Lost your card? This plane had its origins in 1964, when Boeing began work on a proposal for the C-5A large military airlifter contract, and after Lockheed won that contest, Boeing considered a commercial passenger version as a means of salvaging the program. Urged on by Pan Am president Juan Trippe, Boeing in 1965 assigned a team headed by Chief Engineer Joe Sutter to design a large new airliner, although Boeing at the time was really more focused on its supersonic transport (SST) program. A launch customer order from Pan Am on April 13, 1966 for twenty five aircraft pushed Sutter's program into high gear, and in a truly herculian effort, Joe Sutter and his Boeing team, dubbed “The Incredibles,” brought the program from inception on paper to the public unveiling of a finished aircraft in the then unheard of time of 29 months.     2003–2004 ANNUAL REPORT SAM Students with Sanislo Feast SAM CONNECTS ART TO LIFE CONTEMPORARY CHINESE ARTIST LI JIN’S A FEAST made a permanent impression on the fourth- and fifth-grade students at Sanislo Elementary School. Inspired by the fifty-nine- foot-long painting depicting food from a traditional Chinese dinner on a background of recipes written in Chinese calligraphy, the students set out to re-create their own version. Art teachers Ruth Winter and Carolyn Autenrieth designed the project to celebrate the diversity of cultures at their school. Students painted their favorite ethnic foods, and staff helped transcribe the recipes into the students’ original languages. On display at the Seattle Asian Art Museum last spring, the students’ work, Sanislo Feast, a fifty-foot-long art scroll portraying food and languages from seventeen different nations and cultures, reflected the heritage of Sanislo students and staff.     National Museum of Flight Guidance for teachers and adult helpers A Journey in Stories Early and first level (Nursery–P2) Prior to your visit we recommend that all pupils and accompanying adults are briefed that the hangars and other buildings are widely spread apart. There is no shelter as you move between the buildings and therefore appropriate footwear, warm and waterproof clothing is essential. Upon arrival pupils should be briefed to understand the following hazards they may encounter: • The roads around the site are often busy and can be dangerous. Pavements and grass verges should be used where appropriate. When moving along the roads, pupils should walk in single file or pairs down the side of the road. • Running indoors is discouraged as the buildings contain various tripping hazards, slippery surfaces and sharp items at eye level. • We ask that visitors do not touch the aeroplanes or display objects unless signage states otherwise. This is to protect both the collection and the safety of visitors. Coach parking A designated parking area is available for coaches bringing groups to the museum. Behaviour We ask that groups are mindful that there will be other visitors enjoying the site whilst they are here. Please moderate noise levels and behaviour accordingly. Eating We are generally able to provide packed lunch facilities for groups on request and therefore ask that unless otherwise discussed that the eating of lunches and snacks is restricted to the designated areas of the museum. We also have outdoor picnic tables beside the shop, the assault course and Education Centre. Accessibility of the site At the National Museum of Flight we aim to make as much of the site as accessible as possible to visitors with additional support needs and disabilities.

We held our semi-annual CSF Board and Members Meetings September 9-10 in Jacksonville, FL. A lot of great developments came out of the meetings that I believe will continue to move our organization in the right direction. The Board of Directors elected Frank DiBello, President and CEO of Space Florida, as the new CSF Chairman succeeding Stu Witt, the CEO of Mojave Air and Space Port. The Board also elected Mike Gold of Bigelow Aerospace and Sean Mahoney of Masten Space Systems to the Executive Committee. Additionally, October marked the beginning of a few staffing changes here at CSF. Tommy Sanford assumed the role of Director on October 1st. Additionally, Mike L-A has left CSF as of September 30th; we can't thank him enough for his service not just to the Federation, but to the industry as a whole.
