This year’s theme is “Global Generation Workplace: Preparing Leaders.” Today more than ever, we need to encompass leadership and its importance in business. Without leadership all other business resources are ineffective. To ensure a competitive advantage, however, organizations must be on top of new developments in leadership theory and practice to create more effective working environments.

The purpose of this one-day conference is to give you an opportunity to explore tools and resources needed to be an effective leader therefore building the essential skills needed to contribute to your organization’s goals. MARK HACKER EVP, General Counsel & Chief Administrative Officer Solutions

Mark S. Hacker, 43, is executive vice president, general counsel & chief administrative officer of Motorola Solutions. He leads the company’s legal, government affairs, communications and human resources teams, as well as the Motorola Solutions Foundation.

Hacker was previously senior vice president and general counsel overseeing legal, government affairs and corporate communications. Prior to that he was corporate vice president of commercial law and legal operations. He became vice president in 2009 after holding a variety of other law leadership roles. Before joining Motorola in 2001, Hacker was a corporate finance associate with Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney and an accountant with Arthur Andersen, both in Philadelphia.

He is a member of the Illinois and Pennsylvania state bars, has been a certified public accountant, and is a volunteer adjunct professor at Northwestern University School of Law. Hacker is on the board of directors of St. Rita High School in Chicago and the 100 Club of Chicago, an organization that provides for the families of police officers, firefighters and paramedics who have lost their lives in the line of duty.

Hacker earned a bachelor’s degree in accountancy from Villanova University and a law degree from Villanova University School of Law.

REUBEN SLONE Senior VP, Supply Chain, Retail & Pharmacy Renewal Co.

Reuben Slone is senior vice president of supply chain, retail and pharmacy renewal for Walgreen Co., based in Deerfield, Illinois. He serves on the Walgreens Executive Operating Committee with responsibility for Retail and Pharmacy Renewal, two initiatives that will replace the company’s store and pharmacy systems. As head of supply chain, Slone is responsible for inventory management and replenishment, imports, transportation, distribution center operations and logistics for the company.

Slone previously worked at OfficeMax, where he served as executive vice president of supply chain and general manager of services. In his eight years with OfficeMax, he was responsible for inventory management, transportation and warehousing, strategic sourcing, real estate, store development, facilities, print and copy, B2B technology, managed print services, and break room and facilities maintenance products businesses. In addition, Slone managed front-end inventory at OfficeMax and oversaw supplier development. Prior to joining OfficeMax, Slone held various executive positions with Whirlpool, General Motors, Federal-Mogul, EDS and Ernst & Young.

Slone has authored two articles published by Harvard Business Review: “Leading a Supply Chain Turnaround” in October 2004 and “Are You the Weakest Link in your Supply Chain?” in September 2007. In May 2010, Harvard Business Press published Slone’s first book: “The New Supply Chain Agenda.”

Slone is also a member and past chairman of the board of directors of Aspire of Illinois, a non-profit organization serving children and adults with developmental disabilities.

He received a bachelor’s degree in engineering from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, in 1984.

BOB SCHASSLER EVP & General Manager, Solutions & Services Motorola Solutions

Bob Schassler, 50, is executive vice president of Solutions & Services for Motorola Solutions. He is responsible for the creation, sale and delivery of solutions and services and leads the company’s customer advocacy teams.

Since joining Motorola in 1991, Schassler held many leadership roles in sales, product development, engineering and system integration. He most recently served as senior vice president of government solutions and before that as vice president of sales, North America.

He is a member of the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP), the Association of Public Safety Communication Officers (APCO), and an Executive Board Member of the Technology Services Industry Association (TSIA).

CHRISTINE EDWARDS Partner & Chair, Bank Regulatory Practice Group Winston & Strawn LLP Christine Edwards is a capital partner in the Chicago office of Winston & Strawn and chairs the firm’s Bank Regulatory Practice Group. In that capacity, Ms. Edwards represents Boards of Directors; special committees; chief legal officers; and companies. Her expertise is in public company governance, the regulation of the financial services industry and public policy issues. Ms. Edwards also has extensive experience supervising complex internal investigations and regulatory defense matters.

Prior to joining Winston, Ms. Edwards spent 15 years as Chief Legal Officer for some of the nation’s largest and most respected financial institutions. She spent three years as Executive Vice President and Chief Legal Officer at Bank One Corporation, a predecessor to JPMorgan Chase. Prior to that, she spent 12 years as Executive Vice President and Chief Legal Officer for Morgan Stanley and predecessor companies. It was in that role that Ms. Edwards was recognized as being the first female General Counsel on Wall Street in 1990.

Ms. Edwards also has extensive outside activities. She is a board member and Chairs two Board committee for BMO Financial Corporation in Toronto, which is the parent company of Chicago’s BMO Harris Bank. She is on the board of Rush University Medical Center, chairs the Audit Committee and serves on the Executive and Nominations and Governance Committees. Ms. Edwards has been an active proponent for women on boards of directors having organized and led various initiatives with The Chicago Network and the Chicago Finance Exchange. She has also helped organize and lead 5 years of regional workshops for over 40 women corporate counsel to train them on skills they need to advance and become corporate general counsel.

LUKE EMERY General Manager Great Lakes Coca-Cola Luke Emery is General Manager of Great Lakes Coca-Cola Distribution, a Reyes Holdings Company. In his role, Mr. Emery is responsible for the overall strategic, sales and operational functions for the Chicagoland greater area.

Mr. Emery began his career in the Coca-Cola system in 1992, when he joined Coca-Cola Enterprises Inc. as an Intern, progressing into varying roles with increasing degrees of responsibilities in Los Angeles and Washington D.C. In 2002, he moved to Chicago where he has served in multiple roles across all channels of business and was named Vice President of Sales in 2010, most recently named to his current role in April of 2013.

Mr. Emery holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Southern California, where he played varsity baseball, and has completed graduate work at George Washington University’s school of business to include studies in Prague and Budapest.

Luke currently serves as President of the Illinois Beverage Association and is on the board of the Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce. Luke is passionate about mentoring inner city youth in Chicago and has been active with multiple organizations to include: By the Hand Club for Kids, GRIP Outreach for Kids, Urban Prep Charter Academy, and Feed My Starving Children. He is also an advocate for equal opportunity in the marketplace including membership with Men Advocating for Real Change (MARC) and the Network of Executive Women (NEW) chapter in Chicago. 12 SUSAN GALLAGHER Chief Operating Officer Patina Solutions Susan has significant experience in growing companies and building leadership teams that perform. She has over 30 years’ experience in the professional services industry and is responsible for leading the company’s global growth and service delivery at Patina. She is a valued member of the Executive Management Team.

Susan was one of 25 founding Managing Directors of Huron Consulting Group. From the company’s inception to 2006 she served as the Head of Strategic Development and served on the company’s Executive Management Team.

Prior to Huron, Susan was a partner at Arthur Andersen and held a number of leadership positions. Diversity has always been a key attribute to her successful team building strategy. Susan was part of the leadership team that developed Andersen’s first GROW initiative. (Growth and Retention of Women) Susan is the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Mercy Hospital and Medical Center, Chicago’s first hospital and an important safety net hospital serving Chicago’s disadvantaged.

She is the former Board Chair and a Board member of Boys and Girls Clubs of Chicago where she has been serving inner city youth for more than 21 years. Susan is a former board member of The American Red Cross of Greater Chicago and current Advisory Board member of Gallagher Safety and Environmental Services consulting firm. She is a Board member of The Chicago Network and The International Women’s Forum and Founder and Chair of The Senior Businesswomen’s Forum and a member of The Economic Club of Chicago. Over the years, Susan has served in leadership roles on a number of other civic boards where the organization needed help to grow and create sustainability.

BYRON O. SPRUELL Vice Chairman, Central Region & Chicago Managing Principal Deloitte LLP Byron is the vice chairman, Central region managing principal, and Chicago managing principal for Deloitte LLP. In his regional leadership role, he drives Deloitte’s national strategy for client and business growth and strategic positioning in 31 local markets across 22 states with more than 14,000 Deloitte professionals. Byron also oversees talent and community involvement initiatives for the Chicago office, the largest Big Four professional services firm in the city with more than 4,000 professionals.

Over the course of his 25-year professional career, Byron has held several leadership positions, including managing director of the Global Financial Advisory practice for Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu Limited; managing principal of Deloitte LLP, acting as chief of staff to former U.S. CEO Barry Salzberg; and Midwest regional managing principal for Deloitte Financial Advisory Services LLP.

Byron serves on the boards of World Business Chicago, Metropolitan Family Services, the Museum of Science and Industry, Chicago Urban League, and Big Shoulders Fund in Chicago; the Jackie Robinson Foundation in New York; and the Notre Dame Monogram Club Association. He is a member of the Notre Dame Board of Trustees, The Executive Leadership Council, The Economic Club of Chicago, The Executives’ Club of Chicago, The Commercial Club of Chicago, and The Chicago Club. He received his undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering and master’s degree in Business Administration with honors from the University of Notre Dame.

13 CINDY WELSH VP, Adult Critical Care & Medical Professional Affairs Advocate Health Care As the Vice President of Adult Critical Care and Medical Professional Affairs, Cindy is responsible for oversight of the development, implementation and evaluation of telemedicine via the Electronic Intensive Care Unit (eICU) for Advocate Health Care. In this capacity Ms. Welsh collaborates with Advocate’s ten hospital, fifteen ICU as well as its outreach sites’ clinical managers and medical directors to improve patient safety and outcomes via various clinical and process improvement initiatives.

Additionally, she has system wide responsibility to reduce variation in critical care so that clinical outcomes improve and costs decrease. Cindy is also responsible for oversight and coordination of the credentialing and privileging processes for Advocate which will included an entire redesign of the physician onboarding process in 2014. With a 30+ year nursing career, Ms. Welsh has contributed to patient care delivery redesign, nursing management and clinical practice. She holds a BSN and MBA from Lewis University and is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International, Epsilon Upsilon chapter, the American Telemedicine Association, the American College of Health Care Executives (where she serves as a fellow), and the American Association of Critical Care Nurses.

JULIANN LARIMER Chief Marketing Officer Zebra Juliann S. Larimer is the chief marketing officer for Lincolnshire, Ill.-based Zebra Technologies, a global leader in products and services that extend real-time visibility into organizations’ assets, people and transactions. An accomplished B2B technology executive, Ms. Larimer is recognized for her strong leadership in managing diverse teams and driving results in a matrixed environment. In her current role, Ms. Larimer oversees the development of the Zebra brand in the global marketplace, as well as the expansion of Zebra’s industry- and solutions-specific marketing and field marketing capabilities. Ms. Larimer came to Zebra in July 2014 during the acquisition of the Motorola Solutions Enterprise business, which closed at the end of October 2014. During this time she led Zebra’s go-to-market integration work streams for regional sales organization design, global sales team design and global channel partner programs.

Ms. Larimer most recently served as Motorola’s vice president of marketing for the Americas, the company’s largest revenue- generating region. In three-and-a-half years with Motorola, she led several key strategic programs, including: launching the company’s first global channel program; integrating the global sales and channel operations team; redesigning the Sales Incentive Program governance model; building new systems capabilities; and steering three global go-to-market sales teams driving over $500M in annual revenue. Prior to Motorola, Ms. Larimer held a variety of sales, marketing and business development roles at NCR, IBM, Accenture and Bridgestone Corporation. From 2002 to 2009, she was appointed to positions of increasing responsibility at Zebra, ultimately serving as vice president of sales for North America.

Ms. Larimer has been lauded for her successful efforts in the role of channel transformation, having been recognized by CRN as a top channel leader for the last five years. In 2012 she was named one of the “Top 100 Diverse Executives Under 50” by Diversity MBA Magazine. Ms. Larimer earned a bachelor’s degree in communications and business administration from Vanderbilt University and a Master of Business Administration from Northwestern University Kellogg School of Management. She and her family reside in Lake Forest, Ill.

14 RUTH ANN WISENER VP, New Ventures & Process Excellence Archer Daniels Midland Company Ruth Ann Wisener has served in senior positions at prominent players in and agribusiness space. After a 10-year career in legal, investor relations and food service sales at Tyson Foods, she joined Archer Daniels Midland Company in 2012 as leader of the company’s investor relations operations. Later, she spearheaded ADM’s customer excellence initiative. Today, Wisener is ADM’s vice president, New Ventures and Process Excellence. As such, she leads efforts to identify potential new ventures, activities and relationships and manages internal efficiency projects for one of the world’s largest agricultural processors and food ingredient providers.

In 2011, Wisener was recognized by Institutional Investor Magazine as one of the top investor relations professionals in the food sector.

ELIZABETH DEELEY Partner Kirkland & Ellis Elizabeth Deeley is a litigation partner based in the San Francisco office. She has a wide-ranging complex litigation practice. She has handled a variety of high-stakes matters including class actions involving unfair business practices, antitrust, securities, civil RICO, fraud and consumer protection issues; contract, fraud and other business tort disputes; and product liability lawsuits. Elizabeth has tried cases before juries and judges in state and federal courts and before arbitration panels. She has also advised clients in connection with regulatory inquiries before the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, the U.S. Department of Justice and FINRA. She has represented Fortune 500 clients in a diverse array of industries, including financial services and investment, , software and technology, communications, chemical, pharmaceuticals and medical equipment.

Elizabeth is also dedicated to ensuring the provision of pro bono services to clients in need. She serves as the Pro Bono Coordinator for Kirkland’s San Francisco Office and is a member of the firmwide Pro Bono Committee. In addition to overseeing Kirkland’s pro bono program, she personally has represented pro bono clients in a variety of litigation matters, including employment discrimination and civil rights cases.

Elizabeth serves as the Co-Chair of both Kirkland’s firmwide Diversity and Inclusion Committee and its firmwide Recruiting Committee. Kirkland’s diversity efforts have earned the Firm recognition in The American Lawyers’ “A-List”, HRC’s Corporate Equality Index and “Best Places to Work” survey, Working Mother’s “Best Law Firms for Women”, and Yale Law Women’s “Top 10 Family-Friendly Firms.”

Elizabeth also serves on the Board of Directors of the National Center for Lesbian Rights, a national legal not-for-profit organization committed to advancing the civil and human rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people and their families through litigation, legislation, policy, and public education.

15 JEFF CHILDS Chief Human Resources Officer Ulta Beauty Jeff Childs was named Chief Human Resource Officer in October 2013. Prior to joining Ulta Beauty, he was Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resource Officer at U.S. Cellular after joining as Senior Vice President of Human Resources in 2004. From 2001 to 2004, he was President and Owner of Childs Consulting Services. Previously, he served from 1979 to 2001 in a variety of human resources, marketing, sales, and operations roles at AT&T, including Vice President, Human Resources and Corporate Services.

MELISSA A. ANYETEI Intellectual Property Partner Mayer Brown LLP Melissa Anyetei is an Intellectual Property partner in Mayer Brown’s Chicago office. A registered patent attorney with a background in engineering, Melissa focuses her practice on patent litigation, procurement and counseling and intellectual property licensing. She has experience in a wide range of technologies including pharmaceutical products, medical devices, internet-based technology, consumer products and business methods.

Melissa has represented clients in federal district courts, before the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, and before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board.

As an attorney registered to practice before the US Patent and Trademark Office, Melissa also has counseled clients in all aspects of IP procurement and enforcement, including providing strategic advice regarding freedom to operate, patent prosecution and portfolio management.

Melissa’s corporate and transactional IP experience includes evaluating, structuring, and managing commercial transactions, including IP due diligence for stock and asset acquisitions, divestitures, mergers, joint ventures, and strategic alliances involving US, foreign and multinational corporations.

Melissa has been recognized as a Rising Star in intellectual property litigation by Illinois Super Lawyers (2012–2015) and was named to Lawyers of Color’s “Hot List” for 2014, which honors early-to mid-career minority attorneys who are excelling in the legal profession. In addition, Melissa was named as a finalist by the Euromoney Legal Media Group for its 2014 Euromoney Americas Women in Business Law Awards as a Rising Star in intellectual property.

ANITA M. ALLEMAND, PHARM. D. SVP, Enterprise Product Innovation & Development CVS Health Anita Allemand is Senior Vice President of Enterprise Product Innovation and Development for CVS Health. In this role, Allemand is responsible for developing and managing product strategies across the company’s pharmacy benefits management (PBM) and retail businesses.

Previously, Allemand served as Vice President of PBM Product Innovation and Management and Vice President of Analytics and Outcomes.

A pharmacist by background, her professional experience includes various roles including managed care pharmacy at Walgreens Health Initiatives, and hospital-based pharmacy at Sherman Hospital. Prior to her career in pharmacy she held research positions in the pharmaceutical industry in the area of drug development and testing. Allemand currently also serves as an adjunct professor at the Chicago College of Pharmacy where she teaches managed care to pharmacy students.

Allemand earned her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Illinois, her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Midwestern University, Chicago College of Pharmacy and an AMCP/ASHP-accredited post-doctorate residency in managed care.

DIVYA BEHL VP, Operations & Engineering Driv-Lok Divya Behl, Vice President of Operations and Engineering at Driv-Lok, is an industrial and systems engineer leading the charge on creating a new way of thinking in Manufacturing Operations and R and D.
