Theories of leadership as trait, behavioural, situational and contingent or socially constructed concept are applied when analyzing any phenomenon of leadership. The paper examines the communication construct and its underlying appeal to lead people by the motivational speakers. The study explores the transformational leadership in terms of manifested communication constructs in its varying verbal and non-verbal communication behaviors and its influence on inspirational motivation, intellectual stimulation, loyalty, invoking to strong commitment to ideals and successful completion of goals. Data is based on the video clips of motivational speakers. Method of analysis is qualitative content analysis. Storytelling, personal anecdotes, apt question and answer session, and literary criticism are some of the common communication constructs used by these motivational speakers. Prior to joining Civil Services, Sri Kumar served as a lecturer in Delhi University for 5 years (1976-1981). He is a highly decorated officer and had been awarded President‘s Police Medal for distinguished service and Indian Police Medal for Meritorious Service by the Government of India for the excellent services rendered by him. Prior to assuming the office of Chairman, Public Grievances Commission, Sri Kumar handled several important assignments of investigative, supervisory, volatile variety across various different locations in the country. He served as Director General of Police and Head of Police Force (HOPF), Tamil Nadu (2014-2016), Director General of Police and Chief of Intelligence, Additional Director General of Police and Chief of Economic Offences Wing of Tamil Nadu, Joint Director and Inspector General of Police, DIG of Police, Superintendent of Police in Anti-Corruption Branch, Special Crime Branch and Economic Offences Wing of CBI for about 19 years.
