    I Pedagogical Training Programme - 2016 Workshop for Primary School Mathematics & Science Teachers 19th January, 2016 an initiative towards preparing the teachers for Mathematics, Science and Technology Rashtriya Avishkar Abhiyan Central University of Tamil Nadu Central university of Tamil Nadu (CUTN) organized two Pedagogical Training Programmes(PTP) for about 100 primary school teachers under the initiative of Rashtriya Avishkar Abhiyan (RAA). One of the main interventions under RAA is Systemic improvement in the school system. As a first step, CUTN took this initiative towards preparing the teachers for Science, Mathematics and Technology. Aim of PTP-2016: Teacher preparation for teaching Science and Mathematics Objectives of PTP-2016: • Demonstrating Pedagogical strategies and guidelines for teachers • To demonstrate the use of technology in Science and Mathematics teaching • Showcasing the state-of-the-art Science laboratories • Sharing of best practices in assessment About PTP-2016 With the above aim and objectives, CUTN conducted two workshops one for Science teachers and one another for Mathematics teachers of primary schools around CUTN. As we all know there are 10 blocks around CUTN namely, Thiruvarur, Thiruthuraipoondi, Muthupettai, Kottur, Mannar- gudi, Needamangalam, Koradacheri, Valangaiman, Kudavasal, Nannilam, covering a geography of about 60 kms around CUTN. Under this initiate this year, we invited five Primary school Science teach- ers and five primary school Mathematics teachers from every block. Totally about 103 teachers attended this pedagogical training programme.
