Biographical Note Paul Baran, 1926-2011, was a Polish-American engineer who helped create the technical underpinnings for the Arpanet, the government-sponsored precursor to today's Internet. He was one of the three earliest researchers of packet switching techniques, and went on to start several companies and develop other technologies that are an essential part of the Internet and other modern digital communication. Processing Note The collection is not processed at the time of the finding aid publishing date, but open to research. The inventory is provided by the donor, and has not been checked for accuracy.
