A Welsh road trip featuring two of the brightest comedy talents in the UK.

Comedians Elis James - born in Wales, now living in - is taking best mate Miles Jupp - born in England, now living in Wales - around his new homeland in a series of journeys by land, sea and rail, in order to show Miles the glories, curiosities and history that Wales has to offer.

Having left the wonders of the A470 behind them, Elis and Miles hit Port Talbot, the home of acting superstars Michael Sheen, Sir Anthony Hopkins and Richard Burton - at one time the highest-paid actor in Hollywood. Although the town’s Plaza cinema, where Burton used to visit, is no longer in use, Elis pulls out all the stops to give his best friend a cinema night to remember.

Swansea is the next port of call on their mammoth adventure around Wales and Elis visits the hallowed turf of Swansea City’s former home, the Vetch Field - now a community allotment. Miles is more of a cricket fan, so pays homage to Gary Sobers’ six sixes at the Swansea cricket ground, and then suprises both of them with his talent for one of the UK’s fastest growing new sport - Footgolf!

SHANE: FOR THE LOVE OF THE GAME

Thursday, November 9 BBC One Wales, 9pm

#ShaneWilliams

Six years ago, Shane Williams was preparing to put on the red shirt and play his last game for Wales, facing Australia in the Autumn Internationals. He finished his international career as Wales’ highest try scorer of all time with 87 caps to his name, two Grand Slam titles, two Lions tours and the 2008 IRB World Player of the Year award.

After finishing his professional career with a two year stint in Japan, Shane came home to work out what to do with his life away from the game that had made him a legend.

With exclusive access and interviews, this documentary follows Shane as he goes to work with his family firm, tries new sports and attempts to build a life without rugby. Although it can seem that the more he tries to get away from the game, the more it gradually pulls him back onto the pitch - even gifting him the chance for an unlikely last hurrah at the Principality Stadium, the place where he became a sporting superstar.

Shane: For the Love of the Game is a funny, warm, entertaining insight into a very Welsh icon and a story of how, for some people, rugby is not just a sport but a way of life.
