OPEN ACCESS

All FSG journals provide a range of options to make articles freely accessible online. Certain articles are excluded from this (such as Drug Evaluation and Device Evaluation articles) and for these articles we offer a Sponsored Access option. We also offer reduced Open Access fees for articles 12 months after publication. Third parties are allowed to support Open Access fees, provided they have been involved with the development of the paper from the outset.

FSG also publishes 13 fully Open Access journals, with all articles requiring payment of the Open Access fee on acceptance for publication.

Sponsors or third parties wishing to make an article free to download from our website, for use on a commercial basis, can provide access by paying the appropriate Sponsored Access fee. More information on the Sponsored Access option is available upon request.

SOCIAL MEDIA REACH

It has been said that physicians globally spend at least 1.5 hours online per day conducting research, with at least half of that on social media. Therefore sharing the news that an article has been published via social media is a great way to keep interested readers informed about your work.

All FSG journals are active on social media, including Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn, sharing articles when published. Posts are tailored to ensure the greatest discoverability of articles, with images and videos used as well as #hashtags and @mentions where relevant. All articles also include sharing links at the top of the page, making it easy for authors and readers alike to create posts for articles.

All conversations surrounding articles are measured and can be viewed via the Altmetric score displayed on the article homepage.

We can also offer extended reach via social media, offering options to increase the audience for articles and reach a specific reader demographic.

Details of this option are available upon request.

The audience for PLSP will consist of patients and the general public. They are also intended to be read by nonspecialist clinicians, research scientists, decision- makers and a range of professionals in the healthcare community looking to gain an understanding of the research presented.

Further details and guidelines on submitting a PLSP are available at www.futuremedicine.com/authorguide
