WEST COAST UPDATES Update: 1/14/2014 FIRST CLASS SHUTTLE is a Northern California airport shuttle carrier that has been added to the “Airport Links” list because their Redding – Red Bluff – Corning – Orland – Willows – Sacramento International Airport schedule meets the AIBRA website criteria. Their website is www.reddingfirstclassshuttle.com and their contact number is 1-530-605-0137. PORTER STAGE LINES (PSL) has operated scheduled service in Western Oregon for quite awhile. They now have their own website which is porterstageline.com and their contact number is 1-541-269-7183. OLYMPIC BUS LINES (OVT) has operated scheduled service in the Puget Sound area of Washington for a long time. Their scheduled service is also known as TRAVEL WASHINGTON DUNGENESS LINE which is now reflected in the AIBRA “Additional Information” list. Their website is www.olympicbuslines.com and their contact number is 1-360-417-0700. Additional updates are as follows: The AIBRA “Additional Information” list has been updated to reflect that the BARONS BUS LINE (BSB) service area includes Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, New York, Pennsylvania and West Virginia in addition to Ohio, and that MILLER TRANSPORTATION COMPANY (MTC) also serves Illinois. The AIBRA “Contact Us” email address has been changed to [email protected] The AIBRA website has been updated to reflect the above changes. SIGNIFICANT UPDATES IN THE MIDWEST (MOSTLY INDIANA) Update: 1/30/2014 BARONS BUS LINES and MILLER TRANSPORTATION COMPANY now have two schedules apiece between Chicago and Columbus, OH. The two BARONS BUS LINES schedules are as follows: Chicago – Gary – Burns Harbor – Michigan City – Rolling Prairie – South Bend – Goshen – Ligonier – Fort Wayne – Lima – Kenton – Marysville – Columbus Chicago – Gary – Burns Harbor – La Porte – Nappanee – New Paris – Fort Wayne – Decatur – Berne – Portland – Richmond – Dayton Trotwood – Springfield – Columbus The two MILLER TRANSPORTATION COMPANY schedules are as follows: Chicago – Gary – South Bend – Elkhart – Fort Wayne – Marion – Muncie – Richmond – Dayton Trotwood – Columbus Chicago – Gary – Valparasio – Plymouth – Warsaw – Columbia City – Fort Wayne – Richmond – Dayton Trotwood - Columbus BARONS BUS LINES also has the following new schedule: Cincinnati – Oxford – Rushville – Shelbyville – Franklin – Indianapolis MILLER TRANSPORTATION COMPANY has the following new schedule as well: Chicago – 95th & Dan Ryan – Hammond – Gary – Merrillville – Remington – Lafayette – Indianapolis – Martinsville – Bloomington – Bedford – Orleans – Paoli – Livonia – Salem – Palmyra – Greenville – New Albany – Louisville At least a third of the stops on the above routes were previously unserved. Angola, IN and Van Wert, OH were unfortunately discontinued. As a consequence of the above services, Columbus, IN and Greensburg, IN were eliminated from the AIBRA unserved map and list. MEGABUS has two new schedules as follows: Buffalo – Cleveland – Columbus – Cincinnati – Lexington – Knoxville – Chattanooga – Atlanta Chicago – Grand Rapids – East Lansing – Detroit MEGABUS dropped Holyoke and Hyannis, and added Fair Haven (just east of New Bedford) in Massachusetts, and they added New Brunswick and Princeton, and dropped Camden in New Jersey. Additional noteworthy correction: Because of the discontinuance of the GREYHOUND stop in Shawnee, OK, the Oklahoma communities of Chandler and Seminole had to be added to the AIBRA unserved map and list as well. This was an oversight on my part. The AIBRA website has been updated to reflect the above changes. NEW SERVICE IN NEW MEXICO Update: 2/6/2014 The following scheduled service has been added to the AIBRA website as a category 4 carrier: TAOS EXPRESS (TAOS) has a scheduled Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Taos – Santa Fe, service that meets the AIBRA criteria. Their website is www.taosexpress.com and their contact number is 575-751-4459. As a consequence of the above scheduled service, Taos, NM has been removed from the AIBRA unserved map and list. The AIBRA website has been updated to reflect the above changes. UPDATES IN THE SOUTH and OREGON Update: 3/11/2014 TRAX (Ark-Tex Council of Governments) has started two routes in Northeast Texas as follows: Texarkana – Wake Village – Domino – Queen Valley – Atlanta – Linden Paris – Pattonville – Deport – Bogata – Talco – Mount Pleasant They may be contacted at 903-255-3529, however all ticketing is done through GREYHOUND (GLI) for now. Except for Texarkana and Mount Pleasant, none of the communities on these two routes were previously served. As a consequence of the above new service, the Texas Community of Paris has been eliminated from the AIBRA unserved map and list. ACR COACH LINES (ACR) has discontinued their Starkville – Columbus – Reform – Gordo – Northport – Tuscaloosa – Bessemer – Birmingham schedule. As a consequence, ACR COACH LINES has been removed from the AIBRA website list of scheduled carriers because they no longer operate scheduled service in accordance with AIBRA criteria. Except for Tuscaloosa and Birmingham, none of the communities on the former route are served by any other scheduled intercity ground carrier. As a consequence of the above discontinuance, the Mississippi communities of Aberdeen, Columbus and Starkville have been added to the AIBRA unserved map and list. The Birmingham Shuttlesworth International Airport list has also been updated. CONFEDERATED TRIBES OF THE UMATILLA INDIAN RESERVATION TRANSIT (CUIR) has scheduled service in Northeast Oregon and Southeast Washington meeting AIBRA criteria as follows: Pasco – Kennewick – Umatilla – Irrigon – Hermiston – Stanfield – Pendleton – Pilot Rock – LaGrande – Mission – Athena – Weston – Milton Freewater – Walla Walla Most of these communities are served by other carriers as well. The website is ctuir.org/bus.html, and the contact phone number is 1-514-429-7519. The AIBRA website has been updated to reflect the above changes. WEST COAST UPDATE Update: 3/13/2014 BOLT BUS COMPANY (BBC) has added the following routes in California and Nevada: Bay Area – Los Angeles (Bay Area pickup locations include Oakland, San Francisco and San Jose) Las Vegas – Barstow – Los Angeles And the following route in Oregon: Portland – Albany – Eugene The AIBRA website has been updated to reflect the above changes. AIRPORT SHUTTLE UPDATES Update: 3/14/2014 MERMAID TRANSPORTATION – has been eliminated from the AIBRA website because the service they currently operate is demand only. They previously operated scheduled service from the Portland, Maine area to Manchester, NH Airport (still served by Greyhound), and Boston Logan International Airport (still served by numerous other carriers). THE AIRPORT EXPRESS – appears to have ceased operations and has therefore been eliminated from the AIBRA website. They previously operated a scheduled shuttle service between Birmingham Shuttlesworth Airport and Atlanta Hartsfield International Airport. As a consequence of the discontinuance of this service, Birmingham Shuttlesworth no longer has scheduled overland intercity transportation and has been eliminated from the “Airport Links” portion of the AIBRA website. EXPRESS 85 – Has a scheduled Opelika – Auburn – Tuskegee – Montgomery Dannelly Field route in Alabama. As a consequence, Montgomery Dannelly Field has been added to the “Airport Links” portion of the AIBRA website. The AIBRA website has been updated to reflect the above changes. PLAINS UPDATES Update: 3/18/2014 TRAX (Ark-Tex Council of Governments) has started an additional route in Northeast Texas that interlines with Greyhound as follows: Texarkana – Nash – Hooks – New Boston – DeKalb They may be contacted at 903-255-3529, however all website ticketing is done through GREYHOUND (GLI) for now. Except for Texarkana, none of the communities on this route were previously served. SALT LAKE EXPRESS (SLE) has re-reinstated the Great Falls – Ulm Jct. – Cascade – Craig Jct. – Wolf Creek – Helena – Boulder – Basin - Butte former RIMROCK TRAILWAYS schedule in Montana. Intercity bus service appears to have stabilized in thinly populated Montana with the re-instatement of pretty much all of the RIMROCK TRAILWAYS service that was suddenly discontinued last year. The following stops previously shown as “Suspended” in the AIBRA website Montana Station List will remain with an SLE carrier code as follows: Basin, Boulder, Cascade, Craig Junction, Helena, Ulm Junction, Wolf Creek The following stops previously shown as “Suspended” in the AIBRA website Montana Station List are either in relatively close proximity to existing intercity bus stations, or are in extremely sparsely populated areas where a stop would be difficult to justify without continual subsidy. As a consequence, they will likely not be served anytime soon and were removed from the above-mentioned station list as follows: Belgrade, Big Timber, Columbus, Drummond, Jefferson City, Laurel, Manhattan, Three Forks, Townsend BURLINGTON TRAILWAYS (BTW) has added a stop at Aurora, NE and BLACK HILLS LINES (BHL) has discontinued their Buffalo, WY stop. Aurora, NE was previously unserved and Buffalo, WY is still served by JEFFERSON LINES. The AIBRA website has been updated to reflect the above changes. DISCONTINUED TEXAS SERVICE Update: 3/20/2014 GREYHOUND (GLI) has discontinued the following schedule in East Texas: Tyler – Jacksonville – Grapeland – Huntsville – Conroe – Houston Affecting the following communities: Conroe – still served by Greyhound Grapeland – no longer served by any intercity carrier Houston – still served by Amtrak, Greyhound,
