Section 113 of the Mississippi Constitution states, “The auditor shall, within sixty days after the adjournment of the legislature, prepare and publish a full statement of all money expended at such sessions, specifying the items and amount of each item, and to whom, and for what paid; and he shall also publish the amounts of all appropriations.” The following compliance report is prepared by the Department of Finance and Administration in accordance with Section 7-7-45, Mississippi Code Annotated (1972) and released by the State Auditor. Any specific questions regarding the report would best be directed to the Department of Finance and Administration. During the 2016 Regular Session of the Mississippi Legislature, the Fiscal Year 2017 appropriations made by the Legislature were $5,788,311,919 from the General Fund, $14,914,303,839 from various special funds and an additional $154,526,897 for funds managed outside the State Treasury. During the Regular Session, the Legislature re-appropriated $6,660,000 from the General Fund and $41,294,771 from various special funds of Fiscal Year 2015, and also made $25,000,000 from the General Fund, and $88,162,031 of additional appropriations for Fiscal Year 2015 from special funds.
