NATIONAL CARIBBEAN-AMERICAN HERITAGE MONTH is National Caribbean-American Heritage Month, a time to celebrate the rich history and vibrant culture of the more than 4 million Americans with origins in the Caribbean. Caribbean Heritage Month commemoration was signed by President George W. Bush on , 2006. Although Bradford will highlight these beautiful cultures in the classrooms, we also invite families who represent these backgrounds to engage in conversations with their child’s teachers about bringing their cultural heritage to the classroom (via Zoom of course). We are committed to recognizing, celebrating and educating about the diversity in our community!

June is Month June is Pride Month, when the world’s LGBT communities come together and celebrate the freedom to be themselves. Pride gatherings are rooted in the arduous history of minority groups who have struggled for decades to overcome prejudice and be accepted for who they are. The original organizers chose this month to page homage to the Stonewall uprising in in New York City, which helped spark the modern gay rights movement. We don’t teach tolerance, we teach all inclusion. Be who you are and show your pride this month! Virtual Assembly On June 1st was a hit! The presentation was lively, engaging, interactive, and the students loved it-especially the lion dancing! Thank you so Ms. Soli Huey for arranging this wonderful event and thank you to our PTA for supporting it.

MOVING UP CEREMONY

Date: Wednesday, , 2021 Time: 11:30am, it will start Please report to the field by 11am-need some time for parking and settling in! Location: Woodman Field

End of the Year Chromebook Collection Chromebooks will be collected on the last day of school, which is a Mountie day. Students should bring the Chromebook and the assigned charging cord to school that day. Both items need to be collected at the same time. Label the device and the power cord with your child's name and grade. Teachers will collect the devices from students once they are in the classroom. If a student is participating in ESY or another district summer program, they will be able to keep their devices through the summer. There will be a collection sometime in for those devices to be returned. If a student will not be in school the last few days, you turn on the device and charger in advance. Please send an email to Ms. Tamasco and the classroom teacher to indicate the need to turn in the device ahead of the due date, so we can schedule a time.

Bulldog students will be able to turn in their devices to Hillside School on designated days that will be announced by the district tech office. If it is easier to return the device to Bradford, Ms. Tamasco will be in the school building on Thursday afternoon from 1:00- 3:00 and Friday, June 25th from 10:00-1:00 to collect devices from Bulldog students.

All questions about device returns can be e-mailed to Ms. Tamasco.

If you are virtual, please email a picture of your finished Jeepney to Ms. Bautista.
