As their children, we knew that we wanted to leave a legacy to our parents. After reviewing a number of options, we found that a discretionary fund at the Community Foundation of Burke County was the perfect choice. We can’t continue to know the needs of Morganton and Burke County, but we know that the Foundation can and will. We could not imagine a more fitting tribute to Betsy and Billy Joe than this lasting gift to the community they loved dearly. We know that they are smiling down on this legacy. 3 “There are so many heroes in our community. This newsletter highlights but a few.”
