Geraldo Rivera has received more than 170 awards for journalism, including the prestigious George Foster Peabody Award, and three national and seven local Emmys. Rivera entered journalism as a reporter for WABC-TV in New York where he presented a series exposing the deplorable conditions at the for the mentally ill. These groundbreaking reports gained national media attention and ultimately lead to the closing of the school, and gave birth to Life'sWORC 50 years ago.
