1. Rukmini Devi College of Fine Arts

(i) Shri T. Vijayavelu, an eminent sculptor- who had earlier served in Lalit Kala Akademi, conducted a workshop from 1st- 3rd March 2018 for the Visual Arts students. (ii) Semester examination was conducted from 3rd week of March 2018. (iii) Smt. S. Rajeswari, an eminent artist in the field of music, conducted lecture demonstration on ‘Abhyasa Ganam- Sabha Ganam’ on 31st March 2018 for the music students.

2. Craft Education and Research Centre

4. Library

(i) Entry for 288 dance dissertations were made. (ii) Journal list is under preparation for Sankara Menon Library.

5. Museum

53 artifacts of Rukmini Devi collections were catalogued. This included glass, fabric and wooden items.

6. Archives

A collection of selected photographs from Kalakshetra’s festivals have been cataloged on the archival computer for easy use and accessibility for future reference.

7. Theatre

(i) Music exam concerts for the final year diploma and post-diploma students of Music Dept. were held on 16-17 March 2018. Dance exam concerts for the final year diploma and post-diploma students of Dance Dept. were held from 20-23 March 2018.

(ii) Kalakshetra Foundation in collaboration with Lalgudi Trust organized ‘Sambhavami Yuge Yuge’ dance performance on 25.03.2018 at Rukmini Arangam.

8. Repertory

(i) Kalakshetra Foundation presented a short performance in on 16th March 2018. A troupe of 8 members from Kalakshetra had participated in the program. Total payment received - Rs. 35,000/-

(ii) Kalakshetra Foundation presented a variety program for the Airport Authority of India. A troupe of 30 members from Kalakshetra participated in the program. Total payment received Rs. 1,35,000/-

9. Central Office

The following capital works were awarded to CPWD in the month of March 2018 (i) Arresting roof seepage and minor petty works at- Shanthi Block amounting to Rs. 19,000.00 R&D Library Block amounting to Rs. 3,23,200.00 Padmasini Hostel Block amounting to Rs. 8,79,000.00 Manasvini Hostel Block amounting to Rs. 5,44,900.00 BCC Hostel Dining hall amounting to Rs. 8,65,000.00 (ii) Upgradation of platform near Banyan Tree amounting to Rs.11,48,300.00 (iii) Relaying of damaged Mangalore tile from rooftop of BASS School classrooms amounting to 6,65,300.00 10. Outreach

(i) The Tagore Hall Monthly program for budding artists was held on 15th March 2018 - Carnatic Violin Recital by Arushi Ramesh and Mohiniyattam Performance by Uma Bhattathiripad. (ii) As a part of Mentorship program 2017- 2018 music students continue to receive mentoring sessions. (iii) Publicity material for Monthly programs - Posters, Banners, Invites and collages were designed and printed for the program. (iv) Details related to upcoming programs at Kalakshetra were updated on the Kalakshetra’s website, Facebook account and page. 11. Besant Arundale Senior Secondary School

(i) The Board Examinations for class XII and X started on 5th March 2018. (ii) The Annual Examinations for all the other classes started on 5th March and concluded on 16th March 2018. (iii) Results were declared for all classes on 28th March 2018. (iv) The school reopened on 2nd April 2018, for the next academic year. 12. Besant Theosophical Higher Secondary School

Annual Examinations were held for all standards from I to XII.
