Not different from others, the kingdom, in its Vision 2030, endeavors to alternative sources of renewable energy. For that purpose, the country has plan to spend up to $30-50 billion to produce about 9.5 gigawatt in 2030. Solar Energy: The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is gifted with diversity of solar energy 2016 sources. It enjoys one of the world’s highest levels of solar radiation. For that reason, the country has developed cost-effective clean cutting-edge technologies to generate power from solar energy and meet the increasing demand of electricity during summer time. It established more than 50 stations to measure the solar energy sources all over the kingdom that gradually leads to a total production of 41 Giga watts until 2032. 6 Renewable Energy Statistics 2016 Renewable Energy - Solar Energy Projects in Saudi Arabia S/N Height Location City Latitude Longitude (m) 1 Afif Technical Institute Afif 23.92118 42.94815 1060 2 Al-Aflaj Technical Institute Layla 22.27948 46.73319 567 3 Dawadmi Technical College Dawadmi 24.5569 44.47411 955 4 Henakiyah Technical Institute Al-Henakiyah 24.85577 40.536 873 5 Al-Qunfudhah Technical Institute Al-Qunfudhah 19.15197 41.08111 20 6 Al Uyaynah Research Plant Al Uyaynah 24.90689 46.39721 779 7 Al Wajh Technical Institute Al Wajh 26.2561 36.443 21 8 Duba Technical Institute Duba 27.34103 35.72295 45 9 Hafar Al-Batin Technical College Hafar Al-Batin 28.33202 45.95708 383 10 Regional Administration of King Abdullah City for Atomic Regional Office 24.70814 46.67896 668 and Renewable Energy (K.A.CARE) 11 Site of King Abdullah City for Atomic and Renewable King Abdullah 24.52958 46.43635 895 Energy (K.A.CARE) Economic City (KAEC) 12 King Abdulaziz University - Assfan Assfan 21.89252 39.2539 119 2016 13 King Abdulaziz University - Hada Ash Sham Hada Ash Sham 21.80117 39.72854 245 14 King Abdulaziz King Abdulaziz University 21.49604 39.24492 75 University 15 King Abdullah University of Science and Technology KAUST 22.3065 39.10701 34 16 Oil and Minerals King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM) 26.30355 50.14412 75 University 17 King Faisal University Al-Ahsa 25.34616 49.5956 170 18 Majmaah University Majmaah 25.85891 45.41889 722 19 Al-Qassim University Al-Qassim 26.34668 43.76645 688 20 Desalination - Haql Haql 29.28997 34.93002 36 22 Desalination - Umluj Umluj 25.00411 37.27382 10 23 Desalination - Jubail and Yanbu Jubail 26.9042 49.76274 89 24 Prince Sattam Bin Abdulaziz University Al-Kharj 24.14717 47.26999 465 25 Shaqra University Shaqra 25.17279 45.14198 804 26 Sharurah Technical Institute Sharurah 17.47586 47.08618 760 27 Tabuk University Tabuk 28.38287 36.48396 781 28 Taif University Taif 21.43278 40.49173 1518 29 Tayma Technical Institute Tayma 27.61727 38.5252 844 7 Renewable Energy Statistics 2016 S/N Height Location City Latitude Longitude (m) 30 Majmaah University Majmaah 25.8594 45.418 718 31 Jazan University Jazan 16.96036 42.54586 1 32 Al Baha University Al Baha 20.1794 41.6357 1680 33 Tahamat Qahtan Tahamat Qahtan Institute 17.7749 43.17555 1094 Institute 34 Najran University Najran 17.63228 44.53735 1187 35 Rene Institute Rene 21.21501 42.84853 933 36 Al Jouf University Al-Jouf 29.77634 40.02318 680 37 Hail College for Science and Technology Hail 27.39 41.42 950 38 Arar Science College Arar 31.028 40.9056 570 39 Taibah University Taibah 24.4846 39.5418 643 40 Abha Abha Technical Institute 18.2227 42.546 2173 41 Prince Sattam Bin Abdulaziz University (PSAU) Al-Kharj 24.14717 47.26999 465 42 King Saud University Riyadh 24.72359 46.61639 688 2016 43 Dammam University Dammam 26.39519 50.18898 28 44 Wadi ad-Dawasir Technical College Wadi ad-Dawasir 20.43008 44.89433 671 45 Princess Nora bint Abdul Rahman University (PNU) Riyadh 24.85066 46.71833 633 Source: King Abdullah City for Atomic and Renewable Energy (K.A.CARE) 8 Renewable Energy Statistics 2016 Types of Solar Energy 1. Photovoltaics (PV): The photovoltaic (solar) cells/battery comprises a number of solar panels that allows the Global Horizontal Irradiance (GHI) to directly convert into electricity. These stations may be connected to establish a network in a vast field to directly get connection to the public network and transform solar energy into a AC power. This is aim at building a powerful photovoltaic energy to get up to 16 Giga watts in 2032. They are commonly distributed in the tropics and temperate areas of the Revised 18 June 2019 world. Some invasive Solenopsis species are very dreadful. We have already reported a fire ant species, Accepted 30 June 2019 Solenopsis saudiensis Sharaf & Aldawood, 2011, identified using traditional morphometric approaches of Available online 2 July 2019 species identification. Present study was carried out to develop DNA Barcoding to identify Solenopsis sau- diensis and to elucidate genetic structure of the various S. saudiensis populations across their distribution Keywords: range in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The comparison of DNA barcodes showed no genetic diversity among six Fire ant populations and a queen from S. saudiensis analyzed from the Riyadh region. This genetic resemblance DNA barcoding Cytochrome C oxidase I probably reflects their adaptation toward a specific habitat, thus constituting a single and strong gene Biodiversity pool.

Biodiversity Data Journal 9: e66058. https://doi.org/10.3897/BDJ.9.e66058 Abstract Background Tapinoma Foerster belongs to the ant subfamily Dolichoderinae and the vast majority of its species are arboreal or generalised foragers. The genus is composed of 70 described species, 22 known subspecies and six valid fossil species worldwide, while from the Arabian Peninsula, three species have been recorded so far. New information Ants of the genus Tapinoma of the Arabian Peninsula are reviewed, keyed and illustrated, based on the worker caste. Three species are diagnosed, T. melanocephalum (Fabricius, 1793), T. simrothi Krausse, 1911 and T. wilsoni Sharaf & Aldawood, 2012. We present the © Abdel-Dayem M et al.
