ilford ustin oo r. was born on ctober . s a child going to school he had alwas enoed the outdoor life. e spent much time at the river eploring and hiing at his grand dad’s farm in Bullet Tree Falls during his summer vacation. s a oung bo that interest for nature was ept alive as he oined and became a bo scout. orn from a famil of teachers ustin oined the teaching profession and taught for ears at the rimar chool level. is most favorite subect to teach was ocial tudies because he was able to teach about the environment and nature. n ustin gave up formal teaching to become a ar anger for FCD. s a ar anger he trul found his connection to nature and a better understanding of the efforts to conserve nature. ith that bacdrop he became the best candidate to bring the forest alive inside the classroom. o in ustin became FCD’s nvironmental ducator.

ustin is one of two educators at FCD. n elie he centered his wor in watershed protection. imilarl in Guatemala, FCD’s Educator Veronica Avila reached out to reorganie the inational atershed lliance. his initiative consists of communities and remains the onl binational effort bringing together local people from both countries to protect a common resource.
