Information to the pet owner – airport, Tananger utenriksterminal (Risavika port) and airport

The requirements for import/transportation of pets to are not fulfilled at the time of border control. This document contains information about the necessities you need to know to handle this situation. The animal(s) is/are placed in temporary housing/being put in quarantine at the owner’s expense until the animal health/ID requirements are met. Cost of transportation (Sola airport og Tananger utenriksterminal) Monday – Sunday, all hours NOK 1200,-

Cost of transportation (Haugesund airport) Monday – Sunday, all hours NOK 3200,-

Cost of housing per day Dog Kr. 150,- Cat / small animals Kr. 100,-

Return Handing over the animal(s) will be done when consent is obtained from the Norwegian Food Safety Authority, customs or the veterinarian on duty.

Other conditions:

 Advance payment for the transportation and housing are required for the time until the first business day.  The total amount of accrued expenses must be paid before the animal(s) is/are handed back to the owner.

If treatment against echinococcus (tapeworm) has not been given, or administered less than 24 hours prior to arrival in Norway, the animal must be kept/isolated at the owner’s expense until such treatment can be administered and/or 24 hours has passed since the treatment was administered. The animal(s) will be returned to the country of origin (where the animal(s) started its/their journey). The owner must document how and when the return will take place e.g. by showing his/her ticket to the company responsible of transporting the animal to the chosen place of departure. The transport of the animal(s) must be arranged/agreed with the transporter who will make sure the animal(s) is/are handed over at time of departure. If the company housing the animal/keeping it in quarantine and the company transporting the animal is not the same, the owner must make sure that these two communicate and cooperate about the return of the animal(s).

The animal will be kept at the owner’s expense until the return of the animal is possible to implement.
