This diversion will be in operation from late November until mid-December. Swinfen As part of our enabling works near Swinfen we will be working near public footpaths adjacent to Flats Lane, namely Swinfen and Packington 7 and Swinfen and Packington 8. To ensure the safety of our staff and users of these public rights of way we will marshal these routes while our works progress in November and December. These paths will not be closed but local users may be asked to wait a short time to ensure it is safe to pass. Whittington We will also need to marshal users of the public footpaths Whittington 16 and Whittington 17 in November and December. These paths will also not be closed but local users may be asked to wait a short time to ensure it is safe to pass. Huddlesford Our works near Huddlesford will require us to marshal the public footpath Fradley and Streethay 8 in early winter 2020. Streethay Finally, we will also need to conduct works near to Fradley and Streethay 8 as well as an unnamed path alongside the A5127. We will marshal these paths in November and December 2020. Step Inside The Granary Converted in 1990 and said to be the tallest remaining barn in Staffordshire, the height of this Grade ll listed property offers a sense of grandeur as one enters the full height drawing room with flagstone floors and welcoming inglenook fireplace. A gated driveway leads to the integral double garage with the property enjoying two small garden areas, the former is perfect for entertaining with pergola and lantern lighted barbeque area. The latter is an easily maintained lawn area. The original barn was built in 1360 and unfortunately burnt down but it was rebuilt in 1540 and we still retain some of the original wall. There are Tudor roses imprinted into the beams and these little details add to the sense of times gone by, it really does feel like an old barn with an immense history. A spiral staircase leads from the family room up to a galleried upper floor office / snug. The galleried landing offers an additional area to relax and provides access to the show stopping dining room with vaulted beam ceiling overlooking the drawing room. A great gym/dance studio on the ground floor with window was originally part of the garage block and could be converted to a number of uses.

    HS2 Community and Environment Fund What is the Community and Environment Fund (CEF)? The CEF fund has been created to add benefit over and above committed mitigation and statutory compensation to communities along the route that are demonstrably disrupted by the construction of Phase One of HS2 from London to West Midlands. In Lichfield District this will include: Drayton Bassett Hints Weeford Swinfen and Packington Whittington Lichfield City Fradley and Streethay Kings Bromley Armitage and Handsacre There are two types of CEF funding: CEF Local will focus on quality of life and environment in individual communities. CEF Strategic will focus on large projects across several communities and address strategic rather than purely local concerns. Wherever possible, the CEF fund aims to leave a sustainable legacy. A combined total of £40 million has been made available for these two funds over a period of 11 years throughout the Phase One construction period and for the first year of operation of HS2 services. CEF Local will fund smaller projects (up to a maximum of £75,000 per project) which will benefit quality of life for individual communities. CEF Strategic will fund larger grants (from £75,001 up to a maximum of £1 million per project) and will provide a legacy by supporting projects which benefit multiple communities along the Phase One route. Who can apply for funding? Primarily this funding programme is targeted at the voluntary/community sector, including resident’s associations, constituted community groups, Community Interest Companies (CICs), social enterprises, community businesses and registered charities. Other organisations may be eligible to apply for funding too eg if they have been formally established for public benefit and are not for profit.
