Osiris Shrine Quarterly Newsletter POTENTATE’S MESSAGE Osiris Shrine Quarterly Newsletter POTENTATE’S MESSAGE Dear Fellow Nobles, I want to wish everyone a happy, healthy and prosperous new year. Congratulations to all of the newly elected Temple, Club and Unit Officers. With your leadership, 2018 will be a great year for Osiris Shrine. Thank you for electing me Potentate. It is an honor to serve such a great organization where I have had the pleasure to meet so many wonderful Nobles, and their families, and an organization that brings hope to so many Children every single day. Nobles, my message this year is very simple………..IT’S ABOUT WORKING TOGETHER. We represent the greatest philanthropy on the planet, “Shriners Hospitals for Children.” We have a beautiful Shrine Center and we truly have some of the best, most caring individuals, anywhere. As Shriners, we should be very proud of the wonderful things we do and encourage others to join the cause. As we start this New Year, together, please look for new Nobles. The obvious first place is our Blue Lodge’s, as this is the prerequisite to becoming a Noble. Family members? Friends and Neighbors? Co-workers? And the list goes on. If every Noble signed one new Noble, our membership would double! I want to thank Roger for his efforts in making this newsletter a great communication tool and encourage everyone to keep updated, on meetings and events, through our Web Site (osirisshrinecenter.org) and Like and Follow us on Facebook. If your Club, or Unit, needs something promoted…..please let the office know. Please support the fund raising activities of the Shrine, throughout the year. Whether it is buying your Circus Tickets, selling onions, supporting the gun bashes or various other activities, that are planned, we need everyone’s support. These activities are designed to insure our Shrine Center continues to operate and that our beautiful Monument Place is properly maintained. And let’s all be looking for children who can benefit from the expert care our network of Hospitals provide. “No man stands so tall as when he stoops to help a child.” No doubt we face challenges. As we look to the future, please consider your role in our great fraternity, and resolve to be as active and involved as possible. Let’s work together for the future of our Fraternity, to ensure that the hard work of those who came before us was not in vein and to pave the way for those who will come after us. Thank you for all that you do and I look forward to working together in 2018. Yours in the Faith, Rob Govey Potentate OPENING MESSAGES Dear Illustrious Sirs, members of the Divan, Nobles and families. It is going to be an honor and privilege to serve as Chief Rabban for the ensuing year of 2018 for The Osiris Shrine Center, I assure you that I will do everything in my power along with my lady Jacqueline to work with Illustrious Sir Robert Govey, Divan members and all nobility to make sure 2018 is a huge success. I was nominated to Outer Guard in 2012 by John (Catfish) Walters and I thank him for this opportunity. I am a graduate of West Virginia University and, Past Master of Wheeling Lodge #5, I currently sit on the proficiency Committee and teach all three degrees in there entirety. I am a member of the following Masonic bodies: Scottish Rite Valley of Wheeling, York rite Royal Arch and Commandry Wheeling, El Tor Grotto, Tin Lizzie’s, ROJ 13 and Jesters on Wheels. Thank you, Chief Rabban Jack J. Walters Greetings Nobles All, I am very excited to serve Osiris as Assistant Rabban for 2018. Our Potentate has a busy and fun filled year planned, and I am honored to be part of it. I was appointed to Aide in 2012 by Illustrious Sir John "Catfish" Walters and to Captain of the Guard by Illustrious Sir Brad Forbes in 2014. I became a Mason in 1986 and belong to Clinton Lodge #47 in Massillon, Ohio, having served as Master in 1996 and 2001. I am a member of Scottish Rite, Valley of Morgantown, Order of the Eastern Star, Royal Order of Jesters, Wheeling Court #13, and currently serving as Chapter Dad of Clarksburg DeMolay. I enjoy riding in the Upshur County Shuttle Patrol and representing Osiris and our hospitals in the many parades we ride in every year. Being a third generation Mason, I have been around Masonic functions since my earliest memories. My wife Candy, is also involved in and a member of several masonic bodies. We are residents of Buckhannon, WV and have two daughters that are also involved in several bodies and a son who is very active in DeMolay. The charge of this committee was to address any and all options in revitalizing the organization to its grandeur enjoyed in the 50s and 60s. Osiris’s own Taylor Richmond was selected to be a member of this committee, which numbers only slightly above a dozen. Though they are in the very early stages of their work, Taylor was pleased to say that the group is considering anything and everything necessary. “What’s great is there is clearly a commitment by the Imperial Divan to the future of the fraternity, and not just the Hospitals. Although our mission is clearly important, it’s also vital to invest more than just lip service to the vitality of our organization. Based on early comments, it’s clear that there is a strong commitment to doing whatever is necessary to return Shriners International to the organization that men strived to join! I’m excited to see, and be a part of, the things this committee does over the next year!” 3rd ANNUAL OSIRIS SHRINE CAR AND MOTORCYCLE SHOW Location: Monument Place, 91 Kruger Street, Wheeling, WV 26003 Date: May 20th, 2018 (Rain Date: May 27th, 2018) Time: Registration ($5) 10-2, Car Show 12-4 Judged Show ~ 50/50 Drawing ~ Door Prizes ~ 20+ Trophies ~ 100 Dash Plaques ~ Food and Drink Music provided by the world famous “Spikeman” “No alcohol permitted at Event” NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THEFT, ACCIDENT, OR DAMAGE All proceeds benefit the Osiris Shrine Center For more information contact: Butch: 304-479-0225 or Kurt: 304-737-1176 Trophy sponsors still needed at $50.00 per trophy QUARTER AUCTION $50 item for 50 cents, WooHoo!!! • Prayer of Release for Masons & Their Descendants
PRAYER OF RELEASE FOR MASONS & THEIR DESCENDANTS A 2002 Version If you or someone you love is a descendant of a Mason, I recommend that you pray through the following prayer from your heart. Don't be like the Masons who are given their obligations and oaths one line at a time and without prior knowledge of the requirements. First, bind spirits of deception, antichrist, witchcraft, and death in the name of Jesus Christ. Then read it through so you know what is involved. It is best to pray this aloud with a Christian witness or counselor present. We suggest a brief pause following each paragraph to allow the Holy Spirit to show any additional issues that may require attention. Father God, creator of heaven and earth, I come to You in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son. I come as a sinner seeking forgiveness and cleansing from all sins committed against You, and others made in your image. I honor my earthly father and mother and all of my ancestors of flesh and blood and by adoption, but I utterly turn away from and renounce all their sins. I forgive all my ancestors for the effects of their sins on my children and me. I confess and renounce all of my own sins. I renounce Satan and all of his works in my family and me. I renounce and forsake all involvement in Freemasonry or any other lodge or craft by my ancestors and myself. I renounce witchcraft, the principal spirit behind Freemasonry, and I renounce Baphomet, the Spirit of Antichrist and the curse of the Luciferian doctrine.

  • Oklahoma Mason February 2009
2009 - vol. II February/March page 1 James Richard Onkst - 1995 1939 - 2009 page 2 The Oklahoma Mason 2009 - vol. II February/March From the Grand Master As we begin writing this issue of the Oklahoma Mason Magazine, our thoughts and prayers are centered on the families of M.W. Jim Onkst, Past Grand Master in 1995, and R.W. Tom Ward Past Grand Treasurer of this Grand Jurisdiction. These two gentlemen were devoted family men and devoted Masons. There is a lot of degree work going on around the State AND most of these new Masons are very young. A few years ago, I would have just said "Young" not "Very Young", I guess I'm getting old (or they really are "Very Young")! If your Lodge needs some help performing the Degrees, please don't hesitate to ask for help. See the article by R.W. Randy Rogers in this issue. Your Brethren are always ready to assist. Once these young men start showing up to meetings, don't push them aside or set them in a corner. Get them involved through encouragement, not Force. That stuff doesn't work on these "Millennial Masons." They want to feel as though it is their decision to become part of something their Fathers & Grandfathers only whispered about. Also, they don't want their Degree "Shortened" or major parts left out. You see, they know more about what's going to happen to them then we did. Once your Lodge accomplishes a "Younger" look, you will find that your Lodge will begin to grow and become a viable part of the Community.

Masonic Leaks » Michael Lesinski 8/3/11 12:56 PM Home About Submit Your Story Talk To Us Disclaimer Posts Tagged ‘Michael Lesinski’ Sex and Prostitution: Use Our Code of Secrecy To Keep It Quiet Posted by leakdump on March 6th, 2011 For quite some time there has been a growing number of unsubstantiated rumors of sexual misconduct within the Royal Order of Jesters (see the previous article about molestation in Demolay). However, more light has glimmered upon in the darkest of areas of our Fraternity once again. This time, numerous states are involved showing that organized prostitution and abuse is rampant. Those states include, but are not limited to, Texas, Florida, and New York. The first sign of the Jesters’ abuse came in the form of an anonymous email sent to the Grand Lodge of Texas. The claim was generalized. The information within the email was investigated by the Grand Lodge of Texas. The appointed Grand Lodge Officers were unable to find a Mason who could substantiate the unsigned email. Second, there are Court Documents filed in The United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida Miami Division which indicated there was a problem within the Jesters’ Order (Case Number 07- 21228-CIV-Martinez-Bandstra, dated December 20, 2007). The documents list 57 witnesses, 19 of which are believed to be members of the Jesters. These witnesses were to testify about illegal drugs and child prostitution. See the attached documents showing the statements from the abused children, the original civil complaint, and the witness list from that legal proceeding.
