Shakespeare Rediscovered A Journey to Explore the Legacy of the Bard

Aboard the Deluxe L’Austral April 28–May 9, 2016 Shakespeare Bruges Rediscovered

Invites you to join StEPhEn SEgALLEr Executive Producer of Shakespeare Uncovered On a Journey to Explore the Legacy of the Bard Aboard the Deluxe L’Austral April 28–May 9, 2016 Dear Traveler,

Next year marks the 400th anniversary of William Shakespeare's death, and in honor of the occasion, we are offering a very special literary journey that celebrates the life and legacy of the immortal Bard. We invite you to join us on a journey between London and Dublin in the company of Stephen Segaller, executive producer of the PBS series Shakespeare Uncovered.

During our stay in London, we'll take a behind-the-scenes tour of the Globe Theatre, a faithful reproduction of the original that burned to the ground in 1613 during a performance of Henry VIII; and visit the remains of the Rose Theatre, the first purpose-built playhouse to stage a production of any of Shakespeare's works. Attending an evening performance at the Globe caps this day of discovery. Before embarking our deluxe five-star small cruise ship, L'Austral, right in the heart of London, we'll take an overland excursion to Shakespeare's birthplace of Stratford-upon- Avon.

The next eight days will have us calling at the highlights of the region: the perfectly-preserved medieval town of Bruges; the singular Tresco Abbey Gardens on the Isles of Scilly, where tropical plants grow in abundance; Ireland's towering Cliffs of Moher, with their breathtaking sea views; and mystical Giant's Causeway near Belfast. Mr. Segaller will regale us with lively discussions and lectures throughout the journey, exploring the idea that Shakespeare is "not of an age, but for all time." He will also converse about the production of Shakespeare Uncovered—a unique television program that combines history, biography, stagecraft, iconic performances, scholarly analysis, and the personal passions of its celebrated hosts.

Spring is the ideal time to visit England and Ireland, when these destinations are alive with a poetic, wild beauty. We hope you will join Stephen Segaller on this voyage as we trace the life and works of England's—and perhaps the world's—greatest playwright.

Sincerely,
