A wooden statue of Our Lady of Fatima, a family heirloom of local Sacred Hearts Sister Mary Dolorine Pires, was recently gifted to Bishop Larry Silva and placed in his downtown Honolulu chancery office. The statue will be placed in the Cathedral Basilica of Our Lady of Peace for veneration dur- ing a special Oct. 13 “holy hour” marking the opening of the 100th anniversary year of the Marian apparitions in Portugal.
