Second Generation Campers this summer: This summer MICHAEL BLUMBERG and NICK YOHANNA Danny Bazelon (Gary, Highland Park, IL.) were inducted. Our campers never can get enough of the stories Josh Berger (Jim, “Bugsy” Detroit) not to mention the celebratory cake which they now get from town Sam Bricker (Lew, Deerfield, IL.) because they think I can’t keep a secret or be trusted to hide the Daniel Cole (Alan, Northbrook, IL.) James Cole (Bob, Ridgewood, N.J.) cake. Sam Cohen (Steve, Northbrook, IL.) Ryan Cutler (Michael, Rockville, Maryland) FAMILY CAMP 2009 Simon Dinkin(Steve, San Diego, CA) This year Post Camp started with a bang with the band Hayward, Aaron Dinkin (Jeff, Santa Monica, CA.) playing at Old Hayward Brew Pub. The band, made up in part of Max Emmerman (Ross, Chicago, IL.) three alumni and post campers MIKE SIMONS, ADAM BLACK Steven Fishel (Mark, St. Louis) and JON SHERMAN have been wanting to play Hayward with Scott and Max Goldberg (Bruce, Omaha) their Chicago based bluegrass band for quite some time. This Holden Greenberger (Robert, Larchmont, N.Y.) year was the year. We took over the beer garden at Old Hayward Scott Hamilton (Jim, Northbrook, Il.) and had a ball. The next night Hayward played again for our post Ethan Handler (Jon, Northbrook, IL) camp happy hour by the lake. Music seemed to be the theme for Noah Henson (Jeff, Highland Park, Il.) Post Camp this year since many of our Post Campers brought their Chip Kass (Geoff, Highland Park, IL.) instruments and became members of the North Star Blues band or Michael Lee (Bob, Riverwoods, IL.) just sat on the porch and jammed with who ever was available. I Jared Much (Larry, Highland Park, Il.) loved the inter generational music making that went on all week. Jacob Lehr (John, Omaha,NE.) One camper and his dad even brought their nose harps. It was a fun Parker Leshin (Eddie, Highwood, Il.) week in the sun. Old favorites at Post Camp include, tubing down Ethan and Daniel Levy (Brian, Mequon, WI.) the Namakagon., talent show, tennis tournament, evening family Owen and Spencer Marks (Richard, Chicago, IL.) canoeing, waterskiing and sailing, climbing, archery and riflery and Graham and Ian Michelson (Bob, Glencoe, IL.) of course family friendly happy hour by the lake. The Good vs. Brad, Tommy, Justin Mills (Andy, Highland Park, IL.) Evil dodgeball is always lively and filled with laughs. I think the Corey Nagel (Marty, Glencoe, Il.) promo skits with JON SHERMAN, PAUL NATHANSON, KEN Ike Nierman, Elliot Goldberg (Peter, Lincoln Park, IL.) DOANE, MIKE GREEN and JOE MENDEZ pulling for their Andy Peterman (Tom, Glencoe, Il.) teams were almost as much fun as the event.
