Paul vinse pure il campionato nazionale svizzero, diventato di quasi esclusivo dominio della famiglia, negli anni 1907*, 1908*, 1925, 1928*, 1930, e 1932* (* a pari merito), quarto a Berlino nel 1909 quindi 19- 20mo nuovamente a Carlsbad nel 1911. Vinse il 9° Campionato Nordico a Copenhagen nel 1916 e condivise il primo posto a Berlino nel 1917. Vince ancora a Göteborg nel 1920 (torneo B), ed a Trieste nel 1923. Condivise il primo posto con Rudolf a Scheveningen nel 1923. Tuttavia la sua vittoria più considerazione fu quella del quadrangolare di Berlino nel 1924 quando prevalse su Akiba Rubinstein, Richard Teichmann, e Jacques Mieses.[ Ha giocato in seconda scacchiera, a rappresentanza della Svizzera, nella terza edizione (non ufficiale) delle Olimpiadi degli scacchi a Monaco nel 1936.
