  • Lake Michigan Surf Newsletter the E-Publication of the Lake Michigan Sail Racing Federation
Lake Michigan Sail Racing Federation December 2012 Issue 12 Lake Michigan SuRF Newsletter LMSRF IS PLEASED TO ANNOUNCE ... A NEW WEB SITE by Glenn T. McCarthy, Commodore www.lmsrf.org LMSRF's web page for the past ten years was the organization's second generation web site and had grown very long in the tooth. Chuck Goes, whom some of you know from Belmont Yacht Club or from his Race Committee work, volunteered to help LMSRF build a new web site. Chuck’s day job is web hosting and design, along with computer consulting, at his company, Digital Interplay (contact Chuck at [email protected] or at 773.743.9843 if you are in need of help for your own business). We chose the platform of Joomla!, as this web site software allows our volunteers to make changes anywhere, anytime, without needing anything more than an internet connection. Users don’t need any special software to make updates and changes. The goals of the new web site are simple, to make it easier to navigate (check), make it easier to maintain by assigning committee chairs the pages they are responsible for maintaining (check, check), add a bit of fun with links to Maritime Museums and Lighthouses (check), but most importantly to make it easier for you to get what you need (big check). Examples of this last one are that you will find applications for Grants-In-Aid and the Hall of Fame on the web site, along with the requirements of both programs. With over 60 pages of information, we hope you find it informative, helpful and will help your club and/or foster your own sailing.

So began the Squadron’s great journey with its primary object of promoting and encouraging yachting generally and, in particular, the sport of yacht racing. I am proud to state that the Royal Sydney Yacht Squadron has become one of the world’s leading yacht clubs and 2012 marks its 150th Anniversary.

  • Novodobé Olympijské
SLOVENSKÝ ZVÄZ JACHTINGU OLYMPIJSKÉ HRY 1896 - 2004 JACHTING BRATISLAVA 2004 2 Ú V O D V roku 2004 sa XXVIII. Olympijské hry vrátili späť do svojej kolísky, do Grécka.

  • INTERNATIONAL YNGLING 1968 to 2018 5
INTERNATIONAL YNGLING 1968 to 2018 5 A celebration of Yngling sailors and their friends worldwide 50 Year Anniversary 2018 is a very special year. It all started on the drawing board and prototypes in 1967 and in 1968 the first Ynglings were sailing and racing in Norway. Fleets quickly developed in Scandinavia, Europe and the World. Today thousands of boats exist around the Globe and around 500 boats are members of the class, sailing and racing actively. 2018 Marks the 50 year anniversary for the class and this will of course be celebrated during the World Championship in Italy. The World Championship 2018 is hosted by Fraglia Vela Riva in the north part of Lake Garda. Although this is the first ever World Championship in Italy, Riva is known and liked by Yngling Sailors and holds a strong Yngling tradition. During the Olympic Years Riva hosted an Open European Championship with record participation and the regatta was such a success that it became an annual and later a bi-annual event. The famous Ora wind, the friendly club, the many restaurants in the beautiful town fits the Yngling Class perfectly. This is a Championship you do not want to miss. I can not imagine a better place for old and new Yngling sailors to get together, enjoy wonderful sailing, have a good time and celebrate the first 50 years of our class. Mattias Dahlstrom President, IYA THE initial idea was to design and build a small keelboat for THE YNGLING STORY my son, Øyvin, who at that time was 14 years old.
