The graduate student leads the OAC and all of NCAA Division III in goals with 68. Grombala has added 14 assists, totaling 82 points on the season. Grombala is also first in program history in goals scored with 247, ranking #17 second in active career leaders at the Division III level. From the start, the Blue Streaks hopped out to a fast start, rolling to a 5-0 lead before Marietta scored its first goal seven minutes into the game. Colleen Grombala scored a man-down goal at 14:42 of the second half, pushing the margin to 10-1 JCU. Alex Heishman netted three goals and Carly Ross tabbed two to help the Blue Streaks head into the break with a 15-2 advantage.

Molly Carroll scored the first goal of her collegiate career,Heishman scored a couple more, and Jill Jarem found the back of the net to propel the JCU offense in the second half. Carlee Kernodle scord for Marietta in the first meeting between the two teams.

LAST MEETING (2021) In the second all-time meeting between the Blue Streaks and Pioneers, balanced offense won the day for John Carroll on Wednesday, March 17, 2021 in Marietta. A total of nine different Blue Streaks scored goals in an 18-4 road win for John Carroll.

Lainey Donalson opened the scoring just 99 seconds into the game. By the time the Pioneers broke onto the scoreboard with 13:46 left in the first half, the Blue Streaks had amassed a 6-0 lead with goals byRoss, Grombala, Gessner, and Claire Mezzoprete. Ginsberg netted a couple and Grombala got one more for a 9-1 JCU lead at halftime. Dyott notched the lone goal for the Pioneers.

Grombala led the way with 5 goals for the game as JCU’s offense kept scoring. Olivia Hanulak had a great day with 2 goals and 3 assists. Kotulah made 6 saves in the dominant win for JCU.

UP NEXT John Carroll will hit the road on Saturday, heading to Capital for a 5 p.m. contest. Marietta will also be on the road, heading to Mount Union for a 1 p.m. matinee.
