Take a walking tour of Sanibel Gardens with 'Weeds and Seeds'

We are a group of amateur botanists who love to find and identify native plants on Sanibel. We gather on the porch of the Sanibel-Captiva Conservation Foundation (SCCF) on Simmons Monday mornings at 8:45 a.m. Our walks begin at 9 a.m. and last for two hours. You will need parking money when we leave the pre- serve to explore other parts of the island. For information please call Candice Ethridge at 395- 9498, Elaine Jacobson at 395-1878 or Susan Sprout at 395- 2971. Hike leaders to be determined. Join us Feb. 13 as we walk the interior preserve, Sanibel Gardens. It is a wetland previously drained for farming and build- ing, later overrun by invasive shrubs. Now it is once again a habitat for native wetland plants and their associated wildlife.
