2010/11 Special Events at Mammoth Mountain

Night of Lights – December 18, 2010 Mammoth Mountain is pleased to announce the return of the celebrated Night of Lights event on December 18, 2010. Originating nearly two decades ago, Night of Lights began as an annual celebration of winter in Mammoth Lakes. Today’s Night of Lights continues to be free to the public and celebrates the magic of snow with a winter lights show against the majestic backdrop of Mammoth’s ski slopes. Guests of all ages are invited to ride the complimentary Village Gondola to Canyon Lodge where they can enjoy a fun- filled night complete with firework show, torchlight parade, Red Bull skydivers, family activities in The Village at Mammoth and a concert at Canyon Lodge by Donavon Frankenreiter.

2011 U.S. Grand Prix – March 2-6, 2011 Mammoth Mountain’s world-famous Unbound Terrain Parks will host the longest running domestic snowboard tour. Snowboarding Grand Prix March 2-6, 2011. Some of the best snowboarders in the world will compete for a prize purse of almost $200,000. Mammoth’s world-famous 22-foot Super Duper Pipe will provide an excellent stage on which to help determine the 2011 winners. Featuring halfpipe and slopestyle competitions, Mammoth will host Olympic gold medalists Kelly Clark, , along with fellow Olympic medalists , Danny Kass and JJ Thomas.

Roxy Chicken Jam – March 22-26, 2011 Mammoth Mountain is proud to announce that the 6th annual Roxy Chicken Jam will return to Mammoth Mountain, California March 22-26, 2011. As the largest all-female snowboarding contests held in the , the Roxy Chicken Jam draws a field of the best female snowboarders in the world. The three-day event will include both slopestyle and Superpipe competitions, as well as a free outdoor concert in the Village.

Mammoth Invitational – April 8-10, 2011 After a successful inaugural event that raised over $250,000 to go toward the development of a new training facility for junior snow-sports athletes at Mammoth, the Mammoth Invitational will be returning April 8-10, 2011. The three-day event includes ski racing, on-mountain activities, banquets, a silent and live auction, an awards ceremony and more. Racers can test their skills with some serious competition, while more laid back competitors can shoot-it-out for some fun prizes. The event features top name US Ski Team athletes and other ski and non-ski celebrities as team captains with each team consisting of 4 athletes with a celebrity team captain. The teams will have a chance to compete in a race for great prizes and bragging rights.

West Coast Invitational –May 6-8, 2011 For the ninth consecutive year, Mammoth Mountain’s award winning West Coast Invitational (WCI) returns May 6-8, 2011 with an explosive lineup of pro shredders and the most talented up-and-comers. These riders will be competing in the Fiesta de la Pipa and The Village Rail Jam for a $20,000 prize purse. Live entertainment ensures a non- stop spring party with music layered on the best West Coast spring pipe and rail contest for a stacked shredding weekend at Mammoth Mountain.

Mammoth Motocross – June 16-26, 2011 Motocross riders from around the nation will take to the famed Mammoth Motocross Track this summer for the Ford Mammoth Motocross, June 16 – 26, 2011. This event draws some of the best riders in the world and is the longest continuously running motocross event in the United States.

Mammoth Festival – August 19-21, 2011 Mammoth Festival celebrates the finer things in life: wine, music, food and art – all in the beautiful outdoor setting of ski resort turned summer destination Mammoth Lakes, California. The three-day festival, August 19-21, 2011, features live concerts, wine tasting from a variety of world-class vintners, food from fantastic local restaurants and an expo from local and regional artists.
