LIEUTENANT COLONEL RICKHARD NORDFJÄLL (RSwAF)

Lieutenant Colonel Rickhard Nordfjäll is currently the Commander of Training, Exercise & Evaluation Department of the Royal Swedish Air Warfare Center in , . He joined the Royal Swedish Air Force as a conscript in 1987. After completing basic military training, he began the officer basic training as an Aircraft Maintenance Officer at the Royal Swedish Air Force Academy in .

Upon graduation in 1990, he was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant and assigned to the F 15 Hälsinge Flygflottilj (Hälsinge Air Force ). In September 1995, he deployed to Bosnia & Herzegovina, serving at the Swedish battalion at UNPROFOR. After a short deployment back in Sweden the summer 1996, he returned back to Bosnia & Herzegovina to serve in the Swedish battalion at NATO IFOR / SFOR operation.

In December 1997, Lt Col Nordfjäll was assigned to F 4 Jämtlands Flygflottilj (Jämtland Air Force Wing) in Östersund. In 1999, he became a Tech/Tactics Instructor at the Military Academy in Östersund. In 2000-2001, he completed the Staff Officer course at the National Defence University in . In 2004, he assumed the duties Flight Maintenance Commander at F 4. In September 2005, Lt Col Nordfjäll deployed to Bosnia & Herzegovina for the third time, serving at MNTFN (Multi- North) of the operation EUFOR ALTHEA.

Between 2008 and 2012, Lt Col Nordfjäll was stationed at the Royal Swedish Air Force Command and Control Regiment in Enköping. During 2008 and 2011 he was the Swedish National lead for the Swedish contribution to NATO interoperability through CWID / CWIX programs. Since 2013, Lt Col Nordfjäll has served as Commander of Training, Exercise & Evaluation Department of the Royal Swedish Air Force Air Warfare Center. He is married to Marlene Nordfjäll, they have two sons, Axel and Oskar.
