PUBLICATION SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

The Conservancy is pleased to receive proposals for new books and other publications that relate to Grand Canyon National Park, the various resource-related themes that interpret the canyon to visitors, and the geophysical province called the Colorado Plateau, of which the canyon is a part. Specifically, we welcome nonfiction for adults, and nonfiction and fiction for children, as well as nonfiction proposals on Grand Canyon natural history, geology, wildlife, prehistory, American Indian history and culture, pioneer history, hiking, and more. Many of our publications feature very high-quality photography, cartography, charts and illustrations.

If you would like to submit a proposal for consideration, please provide the following: • A synopsis (one page or less) of your concept including the scope of the story and proposed length of manuscript • Examples of your best published writing, especially anything related to the Grand Canyon, the Southwest in general or national parks • A statement of the need that this publication will serve, including how this publication might differ from similar publications already in the marketplace. • A description of your intended audience • A resume or description of your qualifications as an author of, or contributor to, this publication • Sample photography or artwork, if applicable

Please mail or ship your hardcopy proposal to the address listed below. Digital submissions via email will not be accepted.

Proposals are considered by GCC staff and representatives for appropriateness to GCC’s mission, the degree to which they might help in meeting interpretive needs, qualifications of contributors and financial feasibility. This process takes place once each year in preparation for committing personnel and financial resources for the coming years.

Please send your proposal to:
