Mid-decade censuses were also conducted in 1995 and 2007. POPCEN 2015 Report No. 2 was one of the publications prepared by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) to disseminate the results of POPCEN 2015. This report provides census data on the characteristics of the population at the national, regional, provincial, and city/municipality levels. Specifically, it contains the profile of the population with respect to age, sex, marital status, religious affiliation, school attendance and education, literacy, overseas worker indicator, and usual activity/occupation. PSA acknowledges the contribution of all national and local government agencies, local government units, and private offices and organizations for their invaluable assistance extended during the nationwide census-taking. Utmost gratitude is given to all respondents who patiently provided answers to the census questions, and to all hired census enumerators and supervisors for their hard work in completing the census. This was the third census of population that was undertaken in between two decennial censuses. Mid-decade censuses were previously conducted in 1995 and 2007. POPCEN 2015 was the 14th census of population in the country since the first census in 1903. POPCEN 2015 was designed primarily to take an inventory of the total population in the Philippines and collect basic information about its characteristics. It aimed to provide government executives, policy makers, and planners with population data, especially updated population counts of all barangays in the country, for use as bases in their social and economic development plans, policies, and programs. The census of population is the source of information on the size and distribution of the population, as well as its demographic and socioeconomic characteristics. These information are vital for making rational plans and programs for local and national development. The population sizes and their geographic distribution were presented in the regional volumes of POPCEN 2015 Report No. 1 (Population Count by Province, City/Municipality, and Barangay). The population counts down to barangay level were declared official for all purposes by former President Benigno S. Aquino III under Presidential Proclamation No. 1269 dated 13 May 2016. Report No. 1 also presents the household population size, number of households, and average household size (AHS) by city/municipality. Content and Coverage of this Publication This publication, POPCEN 2015 Report No. 2 (Demographic and Socioeconomic Characteristics) presents the demographic and socioeconomic characteristics of the population, which were collected using the CP Form 2 (Household Questionnaire) and CP Form 4 (Institutional Population Questionnaire). Below are the data presented using total population: Age and sex distribution, Age and sex indicators, Marital status, Religious affiliation, and Highest grade/year completed. This report also presents the characteristics of the household population in terms of the following: Relationship to the household head, School attendance, Literacy, Overseas worker, and Usual activity/occupation. The POPCEN 2015 Report No. 2 is published by province and highly urbanized city (HUC), for a total of 105 publications, including the national volume. Also presented in this report is the percent change in the population density over the three census years. The population density shows the relationship of the population to the size of land where the population resides.

    26 Philippines 26.1 Summary of Coal Industry 26.1.1 ROLE OF COAL IN THE REPUBLIC OF THE PHILIPPINES Currently, coal-fired thermal power plants remain the number one producer of electricity and accounted for a total of 5,568 megawatts (MW), or 33 percent, of the Republic of the Philippines’ total installed power generating capacity in 2012 (PDOE, 2014a). The Philippines consumed 16.3 million tonnes (Mmt) of coal in 2012, around 75 percent of which was for power generation (EIA, 2014; Ocampo, 2012). The Philippines relies on imports to meet coal demand, importing 10.6 Mmt from Indonesia and 277 thousand tonnes from Vietnam in 2011 (Ocampo, 2012). The Philippine Energy Plan 2012-2030 (PEP) projects coal demand to increase by more than 70 percent between 2012 and 2030 (PDOE, 2014b). The country’s recoverable coal reserves, as shown in Table 26-1, are estimated at 315 Mmt, with most reserves as lignite. Total coal resources compiled by the Geothermal and Coal Resources Development Division (GCRDD) of the Department of Energy of the Philippines, are estimated at a minimum of 2,268.4 Mmt (USGS, 2006). The Philippines produced 8.0 Mmt of coal in 2012, the highest annual production to date. Coal production is increasing rapidly, more than doubling between 2008 and 2012 (EIA, 2014). The PEP projects domestic coal production to continue to increase, reaching more than 11 Mmt in 2015 and more than 12.5 Mmt in 2020 (PDOE, 2014b). Table 26-1. The methodology employed in the project combined the 2000 Family Income and Expenditure Survey (FIES), 2000 Labor Force Survey (LFS) and 2000 Census of Population and Housing (CPH) to estimate poverty incidence, poverty gap, and poverty severity for the provincial and municipal levels. We acknowledge with thanks the valuable assistance provided by the Project Consultants, Dr. Stephen Haslett and Dr. Geoffrey Jones of the Statistics Research and Consulting Centre, Massey University, New Zealand. During the event, Dir. Margate gave a short message, and then followed by the blessing, ribbon cutting and tour of the facility. Mohammad Taha Arakama, PNP personnel, BADAC Chairmen/Chairwomen, and some surrenderees of Bayog, Zamboanga del Sur were also present during the activity. Balay Silangan serves as the temporary refuge of those drug personalities who wish to reform their ways and be reintegrated to the society. April 7, 2021 – Dir. Emerson L.     Republic of the Philippines DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS AND HIGHWAYS OFFICE OF THE SECRETARY Manila NOV 03 ~1a DEPARTMENT ORDER) SUBJECT: OPERATIONALIZATION OF THE ZAMBOANGA SIBUGAY FIRST DISTRICT ENGINEERING No. 6 2 ~ OFFICE, DPWH REGION IX Series of 2010~p\1)4-\o ) Pursuant to the provisions of Republic Act No. 9695, dated 04 August 2009, establishing the Zamboanga Sibugay First (1st) District Engineering Office (DEO), the said DEO is hereby operationalized under the DPWH Region IX. Its headquarters shall be located in the Municipality of Diplahan. The Zamboanga Sibugay 1st DEO shall comprise the municipalities of Buug, Diplahan, Malangas, Imelda, Alicia, Mabuhay, Olutanga, Talusan and Payao. The Municipalities of Ipil, Kabasalan, Naga, Roseller T. Lim, Siay, Titay and Tungawan shall remain under the jurisdiction of the existing DEO, which shall henceforth be known as Zamboanga Sibugay 2nd DEO. Pending approval of the DPWH Rationalization Plan, the Zamboanga Sibugay 1st DEO shall be constituted and manned by appropriate personnel from the Regional Office and/or other offices of the Department as may be identified by the Regional Director of DPWH Region IX, subject to approval by appropriate official of the Department, CS Law and Rules and pertinent provisions of the Omnibus Election Code. The DPWH Central Office may also provide technical and planning support to the Zamboanga Sibugay 1st DEO as may be necessary. The initial cost to operationalize the Zamboanga Sibugay 1st DEO shall be charged against appropriate funds of the Department, subject to existing accounting and auditing rules and regulations. Succeeding funding requirements shall be included in the annual budget of the Department.
