Parish Council VE Day Celebration Meeting 8th May 2020….. 5pm onwards The next meeting will take place on Monday 9th March 2020 in the Church at 7.30pm.

We are having a party……
At…The Anchor Inn, Epney
Come and join us to celebrate 75 years
of Victory in Europe!
Our celebration will include a dance performance by
local children, vintage games, a code breaking
children’s treasure hunt, songs from the era by
Longney & Elmore Choir, hand bell ringing, tug of war re-match, best costume from the war era for
adults and children and general frivolity! This will
be topped off at 9pm with a firework display of
spectacular proportion!
Our party organising team will soon be round to
visit with an invitation, if you can bring some
rations to enjoy for supper that would be great!
Along with the invitation you will have the chance
to buy raffle tickets to win our amazing, one off,
commissioned event painting by the fabulous
“Jane Fryer” who lives in Frampton! The raffle will help support our event and along
with the painting prizes include a tasty local
hamper and a delicious bottle of local Champagne!

Footpath Audit Severn Bore
Councillor Barry Newman has taken over as Parish Footpaths Officer. Over the coming months he will be doing an audit of our parish footpaths. Please can you report any issues with blocked, inaccessible footpaths to his email address. [email protected]

April 2020 Parish & Town Council Elections th Elections are held for District and Parish/Town Councillors every four 8 , Epney 8.45am, 4* years where all seats will be re-elected at the same time. The next local 9th, Epney 9.27am, 4* elections in Stroud are taking place in May 2020.

Longney School Vacancy Reporting Crime Longney School has a vacancy for a Midday Supervisor to work 5 days a week, Monday to Friday, 12.10pm to 1.10pm.
Duties will involve getting the hall ready for lunchtimes, supporting and supervising the children eating their lunch, supervising the children when they are playing and clearing the hall at the end of lunch.

PCSO Mike Trebble attended the January Parish Council meeting Tesco Bags of Help Tokens where he reminded us to report any crimes no matter how small they may seem.
The more crimes that get Longney School has a slot on the “Bags of Help” scheme in all the main reported the more and Express stores in Gloucester and the surrounding local areas. resources will be allocated to the area. Please add some Blue tokens when you shop there next to help Longney receive a grant. The total amount of tokens over all stores count and the one with the most tokens is awarded the biggest grant. Church Services Longney C of E Primary Longney & Elmore Academy School News February & March 2020 Internet Safety
Sunday 2nd February PC Darren Peters and Gloucestershire PCSOs visited the school to Sunday 1st March remind us all how to stay safe online. All the classes took part in activities and watched a video reminding everyone how to keep safe Parish Eucharist at when using the internet and the importance of telling a trusted adult if Elmore 9.30am they have any concerns.

Sung Evensong at The school took part in another wonderful evening at the Young Voices concert. Elmore 4.00pm Everyone enjoyed being part of the 6000 strong children's choir. The bands and dancers were Sunday 16th February inspirational too. Sunday 15th March Thanks were given to Mrs Kirby, Mrs Tranter and Mrs Hinde for Parish Eucharist at taking everyone to Birmingham and to all the parents and friends who Elmore 9.30am came along to watch.

After a thrilling victory in the final game, they took the bronze medal! Fantastic result, well done Elmore 4.00pm everyone.
