THE 2020 NANANGO SHOWGIRL QUEST AND RURAL AMBASSADOR AWARD

The Nanango Agricultural, Pastural and Mining Society is looking for young people who are interested in being part of the Queensland Country Life Miss Showgirl Quest and the Queensland Rural Ambassador Award.

Both of these awards start at the grass roots of the Queensland Agricultural Shows. There are 128 Agricultural Shows held throughout Queensland every year and it’s from these organizations that the 2020 Miss Showgirl and Rural Ambassador will be chosen.

NANANGO SHOWGIRL QUEST

If you are interested in broadening your knowledge of the Queensland agricultural show movement and making new friends from around the state the Showgirl Quest is an excellent platform to start. As an entrant you learn lifelong skills which enable you to improve your personal and professional development.

Please take note of the following pre-requisites if you are considering nominating for the Miss Showgirl Quest:  Female.  18 years to 28 years.  Never been married.  Have not had children.  Queensland resident for 3 months prior to the competition. RURAL AMBASSADOR AWARD

As a Rural Ambassador you will meet state and federal decision makers and leaders in agriculture and education, be able to input your point of view, ask the hard questions and make important contacts. You need to have the desire to stand up for rural Australia, have a basic agricultural and rural knowledge, and be prepared to have a go. You will make lifelong friends and have a good time.

If this sounds like you, contact the Nanango Show Secretary at 4163 1273 or by email at [email protected]

Please take note of the following pre-requisites if you are considering nominating for the Rural Ambassador Award:  Male or Female.  Married or Single.  Aged between 20 and 30 years as at the 1st of May 2020.  Born or Naturalized Australian and had association with the Nanango area.

The Nanango Miss Showgirl and Rural Ambassador awards will be announced at a dinner on Saturday evening the 28th of March 2020 at the Nanango RSL. The winners of these two awards will be presented with their ribbons and a $250 cash prize. As the Nanango Miss Showgirl and Rural Ambassador, the winners will be expected to represent our show society at the South Burnett Sub-Chamber Competition held at Goomeri on the 27th of June 2020, where they will both receive another $250. The successful representatives will then compete in the Royal Show in in early August.

Locally we also hold a “Miss Teen” for girls aged 13 – 17 and a “Miss Junior” for those aged 10 – 12.

If you are interested in learning more about the competitions or in nominating for the awards please contact Mrs. Gloria Fleming (04 1872 0645).
