Effective May 20th, The Port of Victoria, Texas hired Sean Stibich as its new Executive Director, replacing Paul (Skip) Kaup, who will be retiring. Sean joined the Port May 20th. Sean earned a Bachelor of Science in Business from the State University of New York Maritime College and brings 15 years’ experience in directing and managing all phases of large, world-scale marine cargo handling and vessel operations. He has managed Container, Break-Bulk, Project Cargo, and Liquid Cargo shipping logistics in the Port of , Port of New Orleans, and other various ports in North, South and Central America. Sean brings a broad scope of knowledge and world-scale dimension to the Port of Victoria appropriate for taking the Port’s role in the region to the next levels in the fields of maritime logistics and port management. “After a long executive search the Port is excited knowing it has selected a strong leader who is the right person at the right time leading the Ports efforts to continue creating great value for our communities” said Robby Burdge, Chairman. Sean is married to Kieley. They have two-year-old twin sons. He enjoys golfing and spending time with his family. Paul (Skip) Kaup is retiring after 5 years with the Port. He and his wife, June, are looking forward to enjoying an active retirement life golfing and spending time with their two grown sons in Nevada. The Port of Victoria is a shallow-draft port located on the Channel to Victoria a tributary to the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway in the mid-Texas Coast Region and economic reports indicate the Port of Victoria has a $7.5 billion impact on the Texas economy with direct and indirect jobs estimated at more than 25,000..
