Riordan Administrative Papers were donated to Loyola Marymount University in 2001. The collection consists of textual and non-textual materials. The former includes budgets, correspondence, minutes and agendas of committee meetings, reports and studies, brochures, and publications relating to the Mayor's office. The non-textual materials consist of videocassettes, audiocassettes, and photographs. The dates of the holdings range from 1980 to 2000, with 1993-2001 constituting the bulk dates. Materials dating before 1993 did not originate with the Mayor's administration. Arrangement Mayor Richard J. Amendment # 4373 – No Federal funds for the future development and operation of the Defense Travel System Background The Defense Travel System (DTS) is an end-to-end electronic travel system intended to integrate all travel functions, from authorization through ticket purchase to accounting for the Department of Defense. The system was initiated in 1998 and it was supposed to be fully deployed by 2002. DTS is currently in the final phase of a six-year contract that expires September 30, 2006. In its entire history, the system has never met a deadline, never stayed within cost estimates, and never performed adequately. To date, DTS has cost the taxpayers $474 million – more than $200 million more than it was originally projected to cost. It is still not fully deployed. It is grossly underutilized. And tests have repeatedly shown that it does not consistently find the lowest applicable airfare – so even where it is deployed and used, it does not really achieve the savings proposed. This amendment prohibits continued funding of DTS and instead requires DOD to shift to a fixed price per transaction e-travel system used by government agencies in the civilian sector, as set up under General Services Administration (GSA) contracts. Alameda St.) and stroll through the magnificent building, then walk a block north to Olvera Street for some old LA and see the roots of this great city (many shops selling Mexican goods and gifts to bring home to the family), then a short walk to the Italian American Museum (644 N. Main St.) to see what is on exhibit (everything is one or two blocks away from this town). End your adventure at Philippe The Original (1001 N. Alameda St) for old LA. The restaurant dates back to 1908 and is where the French Dip Beef Sandwich was invented! Great diner-type food but you must try the French Dip Beef Sandwich (ask for a double- dip, which means both sides of the bun are dipped in the beef au jus).

Specifically, Council instructed the Bureau of Engineering (BOE) to report back on the status of implementation of the Sidewalk Repair Program, including any required policies, hiring of employees, utilization of contractors and amount of sidewalk repairs completed. Program Progress On February 3, 2015, the City Council approved implementation of a FY 2014-2015 Sidewalk Repair Program for repair of sidewalks adjacent to City facilities. BOE was established as the Program Manager. A kickoff meeting was held on February 9, 2015, and subsequent meetings have been held on a weekly basis. The meetings are well attended and include the Mayor’s Office, Board of Public Works (BPW), Bureau of Contract Administration (BCA), Bureau of Street Lighting (BSL), Bureau of Street Services (BSS), City Administrative Officer (CAO), Chief Legislative Analyst (CLA), Department of Recreation and Parks (RAP) and the Department of Transportation (DOT). BOE appreciates the participation and collaborative efforts that have taken place to start the Program, and the cooperation has allowed us to accomplish a great deal in a relatively short time frame. On February 10, 2015, BOE immediately began assessment of the list of City Facilities that were provided by each Department as requested by the CAO.
