Family Information and Advice “Hi, my name’s Kym and I’m a hub assistant at Chichester Children & Family Centre. You will find hub assistants in all our centres, either on our front desks or helping with health clinics and play sessions. I love welcoming families to the centre and I can give you information and advice about a wide range of things – from childcare and free entitlement, to healthy eating, parenting support, local groups, activities and foodbank vouchers. I’m also the person you will talk to when you book your midwife appointments. If this is the case we can offer you an appointment for a service called Enabling Families. Pop in or call any of our Children and Family Centres to make your Enabling Families ap- pointment to speak in confidence with a Family Support Worker. Free courses and Support from Families in Mind Bump Baby and You—5 sessions for expectant parents who are struggling with low mood and how they are feeing about their baby. Thursdays 1:30—3:00pm at Chichester Children and Family Centre. Enjoy Your Baby—5 sessions at the Chichester Children and Family Centre Thursdays 10:30-12:00 with Tracy Ashcroft for new mums who want to make positive changes so that they can enjoy being a new parent. It is a partnership between West- ern Sussex Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust and West Sussex County Council. west-sussex-family-assist.custhelp.com 4 YOUNG PEOPLE Free online courses for West Sussex residents Understanding Pregnancy, Labour, Birth and Your Baby – course for everyone around the baby: Mums, Dads, Grandparents, friends and relations Understanding Your Baby — for everyone around the baby supporting you and the new arrival. Understanding Your Child - popular online course about being the best parent, grandparent or carer you can be. It is appropriate for all ages of child from 0-18 years. To access these courses go to www.inourplace.co.uk and apply the access code ‘Gatwick’ when prompted Discover Baby Tuesdays in the Chichester Children and Family Centre Come and join this friendly group with space to chat, play, and relax. For parents and carers of babies 0-12 months. Each session will have advice and information on issues such as safer sleep, tummy time, play, your wellbeing as well as opportunity for you to ask questions of children and family centre and health visiting staff. Ask one of our Hub staff for details. Family Futures Come and join this informal, friendly and supportive monthly group for parents and carers of young people (10 years—19 years). It provides an opportunity to meet other parents in similar circumstances to discuss concerns as parents, look at solu- tions and share experiences over a cup of tea or coffee and biscuits. It meets 2nd Monday of every month from 6:00-8:00 pm at the Treehouse Children and Family Centre, 29 Richmond Avenue, PO21 2YE To find out more contact: Freya Davis 07764805664 [email protected] . 5 Personal Development and Support We work closely with Aspire Adult Education to support parents who want to return to work or further learning. The All About Me programme helps unemployed parents to overcome the barriers that are stopping them from moving forward.
