ELECTION OF COUNTY COUNCILLORS
1. Elections are to be held for ONE County Councillor to represent each of the following electoral divisions within the Chichester District
Electoral Division Wards or Parishes
BOURNE Parishes of Chidham & Hambrook, Compton, Marden, Southbourne, Stoughton, Westbourne and West Thorney
CHICHESTER EAST East Ward of Chichester City and Parishes of North Mundham, Oving and Tangmere
CHICHESTER NORTH North Ward of Chichester City and Parishes of Boxgrove, Eartham, East Dean, Lavant, Singleton, Upwaltham, West Dean and Westhampnett
CHICHESTER SOUTH South Ward of Chichester City and Parishes of Appledram, Donnington, Hunston and Sidlesham
CHICHESTER WEST West Ward of Chichester City and Parishes of Bosham, Fishbourne and Funtington

2. If the elections are contested the polls will be held on THURSDAY, 4 JUNE 2009 from 7.00 am to 10.00 pm and will be combined with the European Parliamentary Election for the South East Region.
3. Nomination papers and other documents relating to the West Sussex County Council elections can be obtained from the Elections Office, Chichester District Council, East Pallant House, East Pallant, Chichester, West Sussex, PO19 1TY (Telephone (01243) 521010 during normal office hours).
4. Completed Nomination Papers and Candidates’ consent to Nomination may be delivered to the Elections Office on any working day after the date of this notice, but not later than 4.00 p.m. on THURSDAY, 7 MAY 2009.
5. The main issue of postal votes will be on THURSDAY, 21 MAY 2009. If you submit a new application after today’s date your postal vote will be issued as soon as practicable after 21 May 2009. The last date for receipt of any requests for changes to permanent postal, proxy or postal proxy votes or for new postal vote applications to be effective for this election is 5.00 p.m. on TUESDAY 19 MAY 2009. Any new applications for proxy votes must reach the Deputy County Returning Officer at East Pallant House, East Pallant, Chichester, West Sussex, PO19 1TY by 5.00 p.m. on WEDNESDAY, 27 MAY 2009 to be effective for this election.
6. The last date and time for the receipt of an unforeseen medical emergency proxy vote is 5.00 p.m. on THURSDAY, 4 JUNE 2009.
7. The last date for the receipt of applications for addition to the Electoral Register to be effective for this election is TUESDAY, 19 MAY 2009.
