The Caedmon School (Pre-K through Grade 5), in City, is seeking an experienced, full-time Elementary Science/STEAM/Technology teacher, to start end of ​ ​ August/September 1, 2019. The school completely renovated the state of the art Science/STEAM Lab last year.

While the core fundamentals are in place, this position is a unique opportunity for a self-motivated and creative individual to build a new and even more innovative elementary STEAM program at The Caedmon School. The ideal candidate will be research-informed, seek collaboration, apply strong interpersonal and communication skills, and feel comfortable coaching colleagues as well as being coached as a member of a professional learning community. She or he has a passion for working with children and has a solid understanding of children's social, emotional, and academic developmental stages. The candidate will also provide educational opportunities for parents.

Qualifications ● A distinct fondness for working with children ● A Master’s degree in elementary education or similar field; Additional coursework and professional development in science, STEAM, and technology is strongly desired ● Successful, full-time First through Fifth grade classroom teaching experience, preferably with multiple grade levels ● Ability to create and implement interdisciplinary, standards-based units of study ● Ability to work constructively both independently and with others - both children and adults - and with teams of teachers ● Ability to assess student needs and performance and to interpret results to inform instructional planning ● Comfort and experience with social media, digital literacy and citizenship, as well as innovative practices around educational technology

Key Duties and Responsibilities ● Teach Grades 1-5 Elementary Science, Grades 3-5 Technology, and develop and integrate STEAM learning into the current science curriculum. ● Promote enhanced science and STEAM instruction and student learning, including differentiated instruction techniques, assessments, and materials ● Participate enthusiastically in Faculty Research Task Forces and committees ● Pursue professional development vigorously
