MESSAGE FROM OUR PRESIDENT Varsity Alumni ‘S’ Club Room Update Celebrating Our Heritage ONCE A SPARTAN - ALWAYS A SPARTAN!

For the past three years I have been working with the Varsity Alumni ‘S’ Club Board of Directors to restore the Varsity Club Room after black mold was discovered in our ceiling and walls during the Stadium renovation. The Board wishes to eventually add 300 team pic- tures representing championship teams of all 25 current and 5 discontinued varsity sports. We are using the following criteria for se- lecting team pictures from our MSU Archives and the MSU Sports Information Department:

♦ National Championship teams ♦ Big Ten or League Championship teams ♦ Final 4 teams/bowl teams/nationally ranked teams ♦ Representation of all current and discontinued men’s and women’s varsity sports ♦ Pictures of historical significance

Listed below is our progress to date in the Varsity Club Room. Thank you for your patience and understanding. Please remember this is a work in progress and dependent upon the generosity of our donors to reach completion.

Additions made in 2007 to Club Room Lobby Area Include: ♦ New signage on and above the Club Room door to help members find the lower level concourse entrance on game day. The Club room is located across from Section 25 ♦ The Spartan Experience — A collage of Spartan Stadium pictures surrounded by pictures of football players, band, cheerleaders, dance team, campus landmarks, etc. ♦ Donor Appreciation Wall — For major donors to the Varsity Club Room Renovation Project. Donor levels: $50,000, $25, 000, $10,000, and 2,000 ♦ Action pictures of all 25 current and 5 discontinued varsity sports ♦ Over 100 football, basketball, hockey, baseball players and coaches collector’s cards which have been matted and framed ♦ A new Honorary Members plaque. The first being John Hannah in 1946 and many other notable Spartans ♦ A Varsity Alumni ‘S’ Club Past President’s plaque ♦ A wall mounted TV with DVD ♦ Preservation and display of the hand carved Spartan entrance door to the original Club Room. Anyone with information about the history of the door or who the craftsman was is asked to contact the Club Office

Additions made in 2007 to Main Club Room Include: ♦ Team pictures of all National Championship and Big Ten Championship teams. Most are on display, others are on order ♦ Representative pictures of all current and past varsity sports. Most on display, others are on backorder ♦ A concession area complete with refrigerator ♦ Biggie Munn portrait with his famous quote ♦ Banners for the Spartans 26 National Championship teams in 9 different sports ♦ Framed posters of the Spartans 86 Big Ten Championship teams, 96 Hall of Fame inductees, and over 100 Spartan Olympians ♦ Three display cabinets donated by the football program ♦ New Breslin and Jackson Lifetime Achievement Award plaques — On order ♦ Henry Bullough Service and Lifetime Coaches Achievement Awards currently on display ♦ Directional signage for features in and around the Club Room ♦ Table and Chair donation plaque ♦ New and improved lighting ♦ Pictures of 4 historic games ♦ A large storage room

Additions made in 2007 to the Hallway outside of Club Room Include: ♦ Wall of Champions - 100+ years of Spartan Heritage and Tradition ♦ 51 pages of text and pictures reprinted and framed from Bruce McCristal’s book Spirit of Michigan State ♦ National Champions, Big 10 Championships, Bowl Teams, Final 4 Teams, etc. to be added at a later date

We are proud of our Spartan Heritage. Our Club Room is a tribute to the thousands of athletes who have created this great tradition. If you would like to tour the Club Room, please contact the Varsity Club Office.

Due to the renovation of Old College Field, there will no longer be football game day parking in Lot K. We realize that this is an inconvenience to many of you. However, we hope you find solace in the fact that we are upgrading our existing facili- ties in an effort to provide our current and future fellow Spartan Athletes with the resources they need to be successful in competition. Looking forward to our parking options for next year, all Varsity Alumni ‘S’ Club members will be guaranteed a parking space in Lot H (Breslin) if they are at the Green & White membership level. Varsity Alumni ‘S’ Club members also have the option to choose their parking lot based on their current RYF (Ralph Young Fund) membership level. Please note that the only grass donor parking lot is Lot G (Wilson Road). If you have any questions please call the Ralph Young Fund at (517) 355-7620.
