INTRODUCTION
The design field requires imaginative and innovative qualities, which my staff and I are prepared to offer. The experience and background I personally offer is wide ranged. I started my career in 1963 while attending college, with Weber Showcase and Store Fixture Co. I later joined the Albert Parvin Co. (Parvin/Dohrmann), where I was assistant to the design director. I was responsible for many projects during my eight years with the company, including Hotel and Casino projects in Las Vegas, Nevada. In 1971 I formed National Associated Design Company, a subsidiary of Associated Hosts Inc., a publicly held corporation. During my twelve year affiliation at Associated Hosts Inc., I held the position of an officer and Vice President in charge of Architecture, Design and Construction. Providing such services as development, complete design concepts, interior design, site selection, kitchen design, graphic design, construction management, and the selection and purchasing of all furniture, fixtures and equipment for the restaurant, bar, kitchen and hotel facilities. Prior to my resignation as Vice President with Associated Hosts, I accomplished a most successful concept, the "Bombay Bicycle Club Cafe and Bar." This concept has proven successful throughout the United States for Associated Hosts. I have taken the liberty of enclosing a list of projects my firm and I have previously completed. It makes it profitable for the restaurant and keeps our clients happy." Kimpton Hotel and Restaurant Group is one of Design Development's biggest and happiest clients. The San Francisco based hotel and restaurant builder has commissioned the design firm to create over two dozen major projects since 1989 including the Grand Cafe located in the heart of San Francisco's theater district, Bambara in Salt Lake City and Bleu in New Orleans. The Grand Cafe occupies 8,000 square feet in the renovated ballroom of a 1910 landmark hotel and is a lavish expression of French turn-of-the-century realism with massive 30 foot columns, huge 40 foot wall murals, custom crafted chandeliers and plush brown velvet booths framed in finished walnut to create an imposing, ingratiating environment reflecting San Francisco's elite, sophisticated tastes. While new restaurant design comprises a significant part of Design Development's business, the company specializes in renovations, remodeling, and conversions and has an impressive track record in turning clients sales around. The Elephant Bar tapped Design Development to reinvent their sophisticated safari concept and provide a prototype for their fast track development plans. As a result of the design enhancements, Elephant Bar has become a premier player in the restaurant world with recent developments in Northern California; Fremont, Concord and Burlingame as well as Southern California, Burbank, Irvine and Valencia. Dick Clark's American Bandstand Grill is another restaurant that was started from scratch, the firm redesigned the original restaurant in Miami to reflect a contemporary look with dazzling exterior neon lighting highlighting the celebrity's well-known name and warm, embracing interiors emphasizing a homey, family feeling. The conversion was so successful that it became the prototype restaurant for five new American Bandstand Grills that have since opened in Cincinnati, Indianapolis, Kansas City, Reno, Columbus, Ohio and Philadelphia.

A man passionately involved with his projects, a leader of innovative restaurant and hotel design, Ron Lieberman has completed hundreds of projects for national and international corporations that have earned him a reputation as one of the top interior designers in the country. With over 35 years experience in the business and an impressive track record for creating cost efficient, high profile projects on time and on budget, Lieberman's well respected status in the industry is unique. Ron was raised in Los Angeles and while attending the Chanard Art Institute, where he studied color and design, he broadened his skills and talent producing retail designs at Weber Showcase. He began his hospitality design career working for the Albert Parvin Company, one of the best known interior design firms of its day and Yates-Silverman, where he accumulated experience designing and developing major hotels and casinos in Las Vegas. In 1971 he joined Associated Hosts, Inc. as Vice President in charge of architecture, design and construction. During his 12-year affiliation with the publicly-held company, he conceived and implemented a number of innovative ventures including the highly successful Bombay Bicycle Club Cafe and Bar which led to that company’s increased profitability. With an intimate knowledge of the restaurant industry, Lieberman formed Design Development Co. in 1983, specializing in new restaurant concept design, renovations, remodeling and conversions and most recently has expanded into the healthcare industry designing senior care facilities, skilled nursing centers and convalescent hospitals.

As Vice President and Creative Director of Design Development Co., David Lieberman has played an integral role in the firms success and steady growth by introducing “THE WOW FACTOR” as he calls it. The ability to create environments that exceed the client’s and the customer’s expectations. “It’s the only way we know of how to insure long term relationships with our clients. We talk to the client about his needs, wants and feelings, and then interpret that thought process into the design.” Born in Encino, California, the 31 year-old designer won a city-wide design competition in high school where he excelled in art, architecture and design. After graduation from college with a BA in Interior Architecture from Cal State Long Beach, one of the nation’s top five schools in interior architectural design, David interned at the prestigious Sheer/Braden Architects in Los Angeles before joining Design Development Co. in 1989. David took charge of the client relationships and coordination of all departments, including conceptual development, presentation and implementation of all projects. During his 16 year association with the firm, his design and conceptual skills, his ability to translate the client’s feelings into a workable design and the creative freedom have all given David the opportunity to experiment with new conceptual ideas, materials and colors. With his natural ability to turn one dimensional floorplans into vibrant three dimensional drawings, David articulates and define the clients vision to create unusual one of a kind projects.
