  • Times and Marks for USC Track Athletes 1894 to 2018 INTRODUCTION
USC TRACK & FIELD Times and marks for USC Track Athletes 1894 to 2018 INTRODUCTION This supplement booklet to the media guide is my effort to document every athlete who competed for the University of Southern California Track Team. Needless to say, I know everyone is not listed, but I did try. This booklet is a free download, but if you really like what you see here, I/we (Trojan Force) would be more than happy to accept any donation you’d like to send. That info will be at the end of this introduction. WHERE TO START? I wrestled with how to organize all this data knowing that the next person would have chosen a different format. But here it is, such as it is. With a men AND a women’s program we’re looking at some 6,000+ names who can be accounted for that competed for USC. This number doesn’t take into account all the relays as there are names on some of the relay teams that did not show up in any other results that I was able to find. Every effort was made to find a mark or time for every track athlete, but this just wasn’t possible. Athletes listed with no marks or times were the 2nd and 3rd place finishers in posted meet results. This booklet covers the years 1894 to 2018 for the men; the women’s supplement is still being “written” and I hope to have it done by the end of summer 2018. The early marks were gathered from posted results in the newspaper and the El Rodeo yearbook.

Valok. Tenhovaara Gummerus Kirjapaino Oy Jyväskylä 2008 Abstract This is an historical study of the relationship between the Church of Eng- land and the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Finland during the archi- episcopate of Aleksi Lehtonen between 1945 and 1951. I have studied the relations of the churches from three perspectives: ecumenical; church politics; and political. The period begins with the aftermath of the visit of the Rev. H.M. Waddams to Finland in December 1944, and ends with the death of Archbishop Lehtonen at Easter 1951. The rhythm for the development of relations was set by the various visits between the churches. These highlight the development of relations from Waddams’ pro-Soviet agenda at the beginning of the period to the diametrically opposed attitude of Church of England visitors after the be- ginning of the Cold War. Official Church of England visitors to Finland were met by the highest political leadership alongside church leaders. The Finnish Church sought to use good relations with the Church of England as a means of gaining support and understanding for church and nation against the perceived Soviet threat, especially during the Finnish ”years of danger” from 1944 to 1948.

  • St Andrew's History
A Permanent Church A Short History of St. Andrew’s Church, Orpington 1893-1993 2 A Permanent Church “At the invitation of the Vicar a few gentlemen met on Friday evening, July 5th at the Vicarage, to consider the long-mooted subject of a permanent Church in the place of St Andrew’s. The meeting was not large, as the day did not suit some gentlemen who were otherwise willing to take interest in the matter, but the case for a new Church was fully set forth and considered.” That was in 1889. It was the beginning of our St. Andrew’s. A Tin Pot in Top Road The original St. Andrew’s was an iron-built Mission Hall referred to locally as The Old Tinpot. It had been erected in the time of the Reverend William Gardner, Vicar of Orpington from 1869 to 1877, serving the dual purpose of district church and day school in what was becoming the most populous part of the parish. The census of 1881 showed Orpington as having only 3,000 inhabitants; and in 1891 it was only a thousand more.
