Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI)

Ira C. Magaziner is the Chief Executive Officer and Vice Chairman of the Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI). He is also the Chairman of the Clinton Climate Initiative (CCI), and is on the board of the Clinton Hunter Development Initiative.

From 1993 through 1998, he served as Senior Advisor to President Clinton for Policy Development at the White House. In this capacity, he supervised the development and implementation of the administration’s policy for commercialization of the Internet and worked with First Lady Hillary Rodham Clinton on the development of the President’s Health Reform Initiative. Mr. Magaziner also chaired a joint National Economic Council/National Security Council Initiative to increase US exports and served as a member of the National Domestic Policy Council.

Mr. Magaziner is one of America’s most respected corporate strategists. Prior to his White House appointment, he built two successful consulting firms and worked for the Boston Consulting Group in Boston, London, and Tokyo, helping major corporations develop their business strategies. Mr. Magaziner graduated from Brown University as valedictorian of the class of 1969, and attended Balliol College, Oxford as a Rhodes Scholar. He has received honorary doctorate degrees from Brown University, the University of , the University of Maryland and the New England Institute of Technology. Mr. Magaziner serves on the boards of numerous charitable and educational organizations nationally and in his home state of Rhode Island.
