calgarysun.com Thank You!

Dear Friends: Thank you: and welcome to our 20th annual Charity Golf Tournament. This promises to be another great event, and your presence is greatly appreciated.

The funds raised here today will be shared by the Children’s Foundation, and the Calgary Stampeder Alumni Charity Foundation, and will be used to support youth based charities in the Southern area. Your participation enables these two foundations to improve the quality of life for many of our children.

May today be the day that: You hit it long, And straight, And you sink every one of your putts.

But if that is not the case, just have fun, because that’s what today is all about.

Regards,

Mike Siroishka Chairman

Indexed Handicap using total team handicap Example: Rob 25 handicap Team total 112 Stan 15 handicap divided by 5 Sue 04 handicap equals 22.4 average Pete 36 handicap team handicap. Brian 32 handicap Take 10% of 22.4

Therefore… Team index = 2.24 which will be deducted from the team gross score. The decimal point becomes an important placement factor.

5 Tournament Rules

Modified Texas Scramble

1. 5 Players per team. (If there is less than 5 players, see rule #11) 2. Male golfers will play from the black tees. Female golfers have the option to play from the black or the red tees. 3. Each team must use at least 3 drives from each player. 4. Team handicaps are identified on the top of each scorecard and are deducted from the team score after the round. 5. Team captains are responsible for keeping team score and identifying on the scorecard whose drive is used on each hole by marking a “D” next to the person’s name on each hole. 6. Mulligans ( 3 for $20.00 ) are non transferable, and can be used any- where on the golf course. Team captain is to record each mulligan by marking the scorecard with an “M” beside the player’s name on the hole that a mulligan is used. Mulligans cannot be used for prizes on any holes ( Save your ticket for a draw prize ). 7. Once the shot has been selected, it must be taken within a six inch radius of the original ball. If the ball selected is in the rough or haz- ard, the ball must be played from there. 8. Shots used to qualify for hole prizes do not have to be the shot your team selects for the tournament. (i.e., If you have 3 drives you may still hit for the long drive competition.) 9. All ties are to be decided by retrogression from a hole to be determined by a draw. 10. Decisions by the rules committee are final. 11. If your team has four players: use four drives per person. 12. All par 3 holes will be set at a distance of 165 yards for all players. 13. The hole is over when the first ball hits the bottom of the cup. 14. Golf professionals (CPGA, PGA, LPGA card holders) are ineligible to win any of the hole in one prizes.

You will receive a tax receipt for that amount and the remaining $75,000 is yours to do with as you wish. 14 The Calgary Stampeder Alumni Charity Foundation

The Calgary Stampeder Alumni Charity Foundation was started in 1997, when then owner of the football club, Sig Gutsche, donated the proceeds of a golf tournament to set up the foundation. The Alumni Association became actively involved in 1999. Currently there is $496,713.00 in the foundation, generating interest, which is invested back into the community on an annual basis.

The Calgary Stampeder Alumni Charity Foundation is a non-profit organization governed by a volunteer board of directors. Our mission is to disburse funds to as many needy youth oriented charities as possible. Gifts and donations of $25.00 and over may be tax receiptable..

As former athletes, who have benefited from our association with the football club, and have chosen to remain in the Calgary Area to raise our families, we feel that it is incumbent on us to create a legacy, which will benefit local area youth in perpetuity.

16 Message From The President

On behalf of the Calgary Stampeder Football Club, congratulations to the Calgary Stampeder Alumni Association in hosting the 20th Annual Stampeder Alumni Charity Golf Tournament.

As we continue to move forward into the 2009 League season, we have undergone several changes in the hopes of making our team more competitive on the field, while continuing to serve amateur football in the community.

These are exciting times for our franchise just coming off a Championship season.

Equally exciting is our recently announced plans to the host the 2009 Grey Cup Championship and Festival right here in the city of Calgary. As you know, Calgarians introduced the Grey Cup Festival following the 1948 Championship win – the first time the were awarded the Grey Cup Trophy. Since then your team has won an additional four championships: 1971, 1992, 1998, 2001 and 2008.

There is no doubt that in 2009 we will showcase our great city, friendliness, hospitality and host the best Grey Cup Festival ever.

“THIS IS OUR LEAGUE” and the Calgary Stampeder Football Club is YOUR team.

Thank you to everyone, past and present, for supporting the Stampeder Alumni Charity Golf Tournament, The Calgary Stampeder Alumni Charitable Foundation and the Calgary Children’s Foundation. Here’s wishing you good golf and enjoy the many new friendships and the memories.

Yours in football,

Scott Ackles President Calgary Stampeder Football Club

17 Message from the Stampeder Head Coach / General Manager

On behalf of the Calgary Stampeder Football Club, I would like to thank you for your participation in the Annual Alumni Golf Tournament.

Since rejoining the Stamps this past year I am delighted to be part of a Grey Cup Championship team and an organization that is committed to building and maintain- ing a solid foundation in Calgary and one that will establish the Stampeders as a respectable, community-oriented organization and provide our citizens with a successful product both on and off the field.

Again, I thank everyone who contributed to making the Golf Tournament a success. Your involvement in this event is one of the reasons that make living and working in Calgary extremely rewarding and I am inspired by the knowledge that the evolving needs of our community are being met by the onward efforts of us all.

Enjoy the tournament and many thanks for spending your day with us.

Yours in football,

John Hufnagel Stampeder Head Coach & General Manager
