Heat Flux Plate / Self-Calibrating Heat Flux Sensor

The HFP01 heat flux plate (also called heat flux sensor) offers a solution for measuring heat fluxes. HFP01 is the world’s most popular sensor for heat flux measurement in the soil as well as through walls and building envelopes. By using a ceramics-plastic composite body the total thermal resistance is kept small. The HFP01SC self-calibrating heat flux sensor™ is a sensor intended for high accuracy measurement of soil heat flux. Also it offers improved quality assurance of the measurement. The on-line calibration (the Van den Bos-Hoeksema method) automatically corrects for various common errors, in particular those due to the non-perfect matching of the thermal conductivity of sensor and soil, and due to variations of the thermal conductivity of the soil caused by varying moisture content.

Ultra Sensitive Heat Flux Plate

HFP03 is an ultra sensitive sensor for heatflux measurement of small heat fluxes through soil, walls and building envelopes. By using a ceramics-plastic composite body the total thermal resistance is kept small.

It is a small version of model, and is typically used in (injection) moulds. Measuring heat flux as well as temperature with one sensor is much more accurate and practical than using distributed temperature measurements. The same technology is used to manufacture heat flux sensors for different applications.

Portable Heat Flux Sensor, with Read-Out Unit/Datalogger

HF03 is a heat flux sensor that is applied in mobile measurements. It is combined with LI19, a high accuracy handheld read-out unit / datalogger. The combination HF03- LI19 is typically used to study heat flux levels of flares and fires, and to verify the performance of permanently installed flare radiation monitors and flare heat flux sensors.

Operation of HF03-LI19 is easy. As LI19 has already been programmed at the factory, measurements can start by switching on the LI19. The data storage interval is set by using the LI19 user interface software.
