Home of 36 holes of championship golf, the DAC challenges both teams’ skills on a regular basis, giving the Mustangs two of the premier golf programs in the nation. The two 18-hole championship golf courses offer a distinctive blend of beauty, challenge and excellent year-round playability. Designed by Jack Nicklaus, the 36-holes offer two unique golfing experiences for the novice to the accomplished golfer. Scheduled to open in the fall of 2016, Trinity Forest Golf Club will become the new home course for SMU Golf. Trinity Forest will resemble many of the great old courses of the Northeast and Great Britain, featuring a links style course on a rolling meadow with tall native grasses and dramatic bunkering and green complexes. The team of Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw – Coore & Crenshaw, Inc. – is building both the championship golf course as well as the short course. The design of Trinity Forest will honor classic golf courses with traditional, strategic golf and great artistry as the guiding philosophy. Located in the 6,000 acre Great Trinity Forest near the Trinity River Audubon Center about 10 minutes south of down- town Dallas, the 400 acre site will ultimately consist of an 18-hole championship golf course, a world-class practice facility, a clubhouse, a practice academy for SMU’s golf teams, a teaching center for The First Tee of Greater Dallas as well as all the necessary infrastructure for hosting prestigious events held by the PGA TOUR, PGA of America and United States Golf Association and the NCAA Tournament. 4 2015-16 SMU Men’s Golf 2015-16 SMU MEN’S GOLF 2015-16 MEN’S GOLF COACHING STAFF SMUMUSTANGS.COM 5 2015-16 SMU MEN’S GOLF Jason Enloe Head Coach | Second Season | Alma Mater: SMU (1996) Jason Enloe enters his second season at the helm of the SMU men’s golf team. AMERICAN FAMILY INSURANCE CHAMPIONSHIP June 1, 2015 Jack Salzwedel Tim Finchem Steve Stricker Barry Alvarez DAVE MARR: Welcome, everyone. I'm David Marr with the Golf Channel. Just wanted to let you all know that the Golf Channel is going to be recording this press conference right here, do some interviews and air it on a pregame show before the NCAA Championships later on today. Our schedule has been moved around and we're very excited with what we're about to have announced here, looking forward not only to this day but also next year and the years to come. Wisconsin golf is something that's been important obviously to the game of golf and to the Golf Channel, but now with the Champions Tour coming to town, it's going to be a lot of fun from this area. There's a player whose passion and foresight in all of his work really was the motivation behind making this happen. We have a video right now to tell you a bit about that man. (Video played.) DAVE MARR: This man, Steve Stricker, certainly is going to carry through, I'm sure, this event and onward. I would like to welcome everyone here, fellow members of the media; hopefully you're as excited as we all are, and introduce the folks here on the panel. I'm sure you all know down the far left is the director of athletics for the University of Wisconsin, Barry Alvarez. Next to him, a man who, again, the talent and decency I've met very few people who equal his gentlemanly stature in the game of golf, always a pleasure to be around and to watch play golf, Steve Stricker.

ABOUT WESTCHESTER COUNTRY CLUB Three-time U.S. Amateur champion Walter J. Travis laid out the two 18-hole golf courses at Westchester Country Club, just 30 miles outside New York City, that opened in 1922. The courses were built by the Philadelphia-based architectural firm of Toomey and Flynn who built the modern course at Shinnecock Hills toward the end of the same decade. The club joined the USGA on Jan. 13, 1922, several months before the courses opened for play that summer. The West Course has hosted many memorable golf events over its history. Beginning with the 1923 U.S. Women’s Amateur, the course went on to host 44 PGA Tour events. The Thunderbird Classic came to Westchester in 1963, with Arnold Palmer and Jack Nicklaus winning two of the first three years.
