“MSU Today” on AM 870 Spartan fans may have already discovered the MSU Today radio show, Sundays at 4 p.m. on AM870. Host Russ White focuses on projects and activities making an impact on MSU and the world beyond through interviews with special guests and regular features. White is the assistant director of MSU’s advancement communications unit and a multimedia coordinator. “I manage MSU’s relationship with News/Talk 760 WJR and produce three programs that air on WJR – “Greening of the Great Lakes,” “MSU Today” and the “MSU/WJR Tailgate Show,” he says. White is also senior producer at Spartan Podcast. The MSU grad has been with the university since 1997, and also produces multimedia content like audio and video for all MSU Advancement programs. Prior to coming to MSU, Russ worked at WJR as technical director of the late J. P. McCarthy ’s show. He launched the Mitch Albom and Paul W. Smith shows. WKAR-TV carries a television version of MSU Today with host Jim Peck. The program appears at various times in the WKAR schedule. Check listings.
