[email protected] HALLMARK CHANNEL TO PREMIERE CRITICALLY-ACCLAIMED, NEWLY ACQUIRED SERIES ‘THE GOOD WIFE’ STARTING THURSDAY, JANUARY 2, 2014 FOR NEW WEEKDAY PRIMETIME BLOCK Golden Globe® and four-time Emmy® winning drama “The Good Wife” began airing on Hallmark Channel Thursday, January 2 (6p.m. – 10p.m. ET/PT, 5C), kicking off a new regular weeknight four-hour primetime viewing block. The critically-acclaimed, off-network series, which was recently nominated for the 2014 Golden Globes® in three categories, including Best Television Series Drama and Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series Drama, stars Julianna Margulies, Chris Noth, Christine Baranski, Josh Charles and Alan Cumming. “The Good Wife” airs in primetime Mondays through Fridays, giving a dramatic mix to the current weekday lineup of successful syndicated series already on the network, including sitcoms “Home Improvement,” “The Golden Girls” and “Frasier.” Debuted on CBS in September 2009 and currently in its fifth season, “The Good Wife” stars Golden Globe® and four-time Emmy® winning actress Julianna Margulies as Alicia Florrick in the title role. Alicia has been a good wife to her husband Peter (Noth), a former state attorney, but after a corruption scandal, he is behind bars and has left her humiliated in the public eye. A mother of two, Alicia must provide for her family and returns to work as a litigator in a prestigious law firm, where she rekindles a connection with longtime friend, former law school classmate and firm partner, Will Gardner (Charles).
