COACHELLA, CA – (January 22, 2016) – Spotlight 29 Casino is proud to present the ultimate viewing party for HBO Championship Boxing featuring the Light Heavyweight Championship fight between Sergey Kovalev and Jean Pascal. HBO Championship Boxing will be shown live in Hot Spot and Groove on Saturday, January 30 at 6:45 p.m. Spotlight 29 Casino offers the premier entertainment experience in the Coachella Valley.
The feature fight of the night is the much-anticipated rematch between International Boxing Federation (IBF) World Boxing Association (WBA) World Boxing Organization (WBO) Light Heavyweight Champion Kovalev and Pascal. In their first meeting last March, Kovalev stopped Pascal in eight rounds. The Russian born boxer started fighting at age 11 and quickly began an amateur champion. Kovalev won his first WBO Light Heavyweight title in 2013 and has successfully defended the title six straight times.
His challenger, Pascal, made his professional debut in 2005 and rattled off 21 straight wins before suffering his first loss to Carl Froch in 2008. His other two losses were to Bernard Hopkins and the WBO/WBA Light Heavyweight title fight to Kovalev. Previously, he has held the WBO and WBA Light Heavyweight titles.
The fights will take place at the Centre Bell in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, and all the action will be shown live on Saturday, January 30 at 6:45 p.m. in Hot Spot and Groove.
