Holmesdale Road Site Principles Basic Map HOLMESDALE ROAD SITE PRINCIPLES Design Update + Thornton Heath Train Station Following feedback from previous consultation events and pre-application Crystal Palace Football Stadium + Whitehorse Road meetings, we have made some changes to the design proposal you have Ely Road seen in January. We would really like to find out what you think of the design development and understand what you think will work well in your area. The existing outbuildings will also be removed to allow Railway Stationfor improved landscaping. Re-provision for these will be provided in new externalRailway Track enclosures, moved into locations away from the new courtyard spaces. Surface Water A part 5 storey, part 12-storey building is proposed towards the north of the A NEWHAVEN A NEWHAVEN site, adjacent to the Ely Road cul-de-sac, in the location marked as “A” on the ROAD ROAD plan to the far right. 55 new homes are proposed on Site A comprising: ELY ROAD ELY ROAD — 45 x 1-bed flats B B — 2 x 2-bed flats HOLMESDALE ROAD HOLMESDALE ROAD — 8 x 3-bed flats WISBEACH WISBEACH Two six storey buildings are proposed in the locations marked B and C ROAD ROAD WHITEHORSE ROAD WHITEHORSE ROAD comprising — Site B – 11 x 2-bed flats C C — Site C – 17 x 1-bed flats and 6 x 2-bed flats SAXON ROAD SAXON ROAD The buildings will provide a mixture of shared ownership and affordable rent homes. There will also be dedicated wheelchair accessible flats. Based on conversations with the council, as well as yourselves we have identified the following possible uses for the space: — Resident association meetings — Rentable space for celebrations — Local health organisations may be able to use it for regular drop-in sessions — LBC estates team have identified benefit of having space for caretakers storage Parking for and respite Community 1 - 7 We would like to hear any further feedback from you on these proposed uses - do they meet the needs of the area? Is there anything you would like to add? Croydon has the most astonishing variety of architectures from every period, brought together in an incredibly varied urban environment that has everything from the most space-age, optimistic highrises of the 1960s, to the most elegant of Edwardian parks, the most forward-looking suburbia of the 1930s, the sharpest glass skyscrapers of the 21st century, and the most elegant of the Victorian’s virtuosity with brick. Taking some of the many great examples, and organising them as building blocks in a miniature, condensed version of Croydon’s spatial diversity, I created Croydon Collage. A re-suable, re-combinable little iconic symbol of the borough that is as colourful, iconic and proud as Croydon itself rightly is of its brilliant past, exciting present, and beckoning future.
